Depends on if you are going to rebuild or take it in.

Probably cheaper too buy a running replacement sled of same year as either will save you funds when other parts are needed.

Only an idea as our group had all the same sleds with lots of spares if needed.

Really depends on your bottom end and if its good or not and if you can do the work yourself. If you are lucky and can reuse your bottom end then you could get away with doing a top end with jugs for about $1000 if you get parts from recreation supply in Saskatoon. They have good inventory and usually can get parts to you within 2 business days. If your bottom end is pooched you could be looking at about $2000 roughly if I had to guess. Others who know more may tell me I'm wrong though, but from what I know that would be my guess.

Can get a reman short block from Mots for $1800
Replate monoblock $450, Wossner Piston kit $350
Gasket kit $120
Isoflex grease $80
Either buy reman short block or do a complete tear down and rebuild. No sense half azzin it, Do crank seals and re pack bearings as well.

I'd be checking the tolerance on the crank first before I'd do anything. There were a lot of 08 with out of spec cranks or close to out. You might be better off buying a short block.

Like others have said, check the crank, and check the crank seals. Probably lost a seal, went lean, and burnt a piston. If you are lucky you might get away with a top end rebuild. I broke a piston and cracked both the top and bottom case when parts went flying so I needed a short block. If you go that route Tom over at Mott's is a great guy to deal with.
