What did they plug up with? Did they get carbon built up in them?

It looks like carbon. We just removed it at camp and cleaned it with the bbq brush

Then it ran great.
We stopped on the trail and when we went to leave it had no power.

It stalled when I got it stuck in a DEEP mud hole so mud along with a carbon build up plugged it up.
I removed the screen and snorkled the exhaust and never re installed it.

My screen is still in place but someone drinking cut a hold in it.
