RV fresh water tanks

The RV trailer I have doesn't hold enough fresh water. Its good for a weekend get away but if we want to do a longer trip we really have to be careful with water usage. I would like to add a second water tank (~40 gallons), does anyone on here know of someone who makes holding tanks. I`ve looked around and can't find the right size for my trailer, most are to deep, or they are just not going to work.

Im trying to mount another tank under the trailer and tie it into the one that is there. I didn't want to carry any more in the box of the truck. I have a few 5 gallon pails that I take for extra water but it would be nice to not have to worry about water.

Your trailer will be overloaded if you add a 40 gal tank on stock trailer axles and tires, they give you crap 6 ply tires from factory to save them $20....but I've seen people add another tank underneath before.

If you get a new one under make sure you spray foam it or a rock will kill it, mice hate sprayfoam as well

I`ve replaced the 3500# axles with 6000# axles already

I put an extra tank in my bumper pull a few years back. I put a line between it and the stock one and it worked awesome. Can't remember exactly where I bought it but it was a place like this and might even have been these guys. these guys are in Lacombe so you could drive to pick it up.... no shipping.

I would also look into Marmit Plastics in Edmonton. I was going to put a horizontal tank in the box of my truck for the same reason. A 50 gallon horizontal tank will fit between the wheel wells, under my sled deck. Best part is, they’’ll mount a bulkhead and vented lid or cap wherever you want on the tank. I was just going to use a 12v transfer pump and a garden hose to move water from the truck to the camper.

all great ideas with a tank in the back of the truck but I need the box to haul my quad, generator, chainsaw, etc. you get the idea. I now have a few places to check with and hopeful find something that fits in/on the trailer.

They did a crapper tank for my brothers old trailer and myself and a couple buddies have had them build multiple different water tanks. They used to charge about a buck a litre but not sure if that pricing still stands.

I will be building my own bigger tank outta fibreglass as I own a fibreglass company ha ha. I will probably get 30-40 extra gallons from it just by capitalizing on the space available and it will be deeper than the plastic one. It is a large job to do but way better than plastic and can repaired or modified at any time which is good, the downfall is the price, plastic is cheap and I cannot compete with that but on the other hand I can build anything, incorporate brackets and build any size unlike plastic that are restricted to their moulds they have in stock. I will be doing mine as soon as I can but I am a little behind right now with real work.

I would make sure that your waste tanks have enough volume to hold the extra fresh water. You won't be drinking all the extra, likely going for showers, that's what i'd be using it for!!
