I think people, city or rural, are realizing that they can't protect their families or property without the real possibility of jail time.
If the liberals tell you otherwise come election look for the lawn signs and just start walking around their property and see how they like it.

Big part of the problem is between 11pm and 7 am there is no one on patrol in most rural detachments.

I live in inner city Calgary and if someone enters my premises unannounced and uninvited they’re going down for good. Maybe I go to jail and maybe I don’t, either way my response doesn’t change. I’ll gladly spend the rest of my days in a taxpayers resort (prison) while the alleged perpetrator rests in the dirt.
Flip side of that coin, I don’t wake up in time and get shot maybe killed, but wait, I knowingly purchased items that are sought after by thieves so I guess it’s my fault.
And forget rural areas, I bet the next time someone decides to steal something from my building it wouldn’t matter if the cops were 5 seconds or 5 hours away they’re still going to attempt the theft. As such I’ve rigged up my bike with an electrical deterrent stored in my truck box. Waiting for a tester still lol

I agree with the light load lol first two are #7 target load after that its a couple 00 buck mag then a couple 1 oz hollow point slugs if it gets that far
