Road Trip Through The States

Been planning this trip for a while now, departure will be this Friday April 8th from Edmonton, back on the 27th, plan to hit up various locations along the way such as:

- Portland
- San Francisco
- Pismo Beach
- Santa Monica / Malibu
- Los Angeles Area
- Las Vegas
- Yellowstone Area
- back home

Any must-sees along the way?? Will be taking HWY101 / I5 for the most part down, and staying I15 ish on the way back.

Vegas is Vegas... Cant beat a stop at the Shelby museum for a tour. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway has a bunch of things for tourists too I'm sure.

When I was 12 we drove to Disneyland and back.

Renting machines if Florence Oregon and riding the Dunes was more fun than Disney for me! Probably not as fun for my dad who got me unstuck all day!

Definitely the dunes in Oregon, Winchester bay are the best for riding. Big Sur is a funky place to hit the sidewalks for awhile. Devil's Calderon is a pretty awesome place to. I've been down there lots I'm sure I'll think of more.

Been up and down the PCH a couple times on bikes and I’ll make a couple suggestions. the dunes in Oregon are cool , nice ride down to San Francisco , when there Alcatraz is a must do and if you mean Yellowstone Park you should for sure go to Cody Wyoming , really cool place and gotta go to the Buffalo Bill/ Winchester historical museum. We were gonna just take a peek , ended up getting a room and going back in the morning , awesome place. And when there if its open , if you’re gonna head north , take Beartooth Pass thru Cooke City and back to Red Lodge Montana , super drive . (Check for road conditions, can be kinda hairy)

Be sure to check out the Black Hills. South West corner of South Dakota. Mount Rushmore area. Drive the Iron horse road (think that's what it's called) it is narrow windy and has some tight tunnels. Beautiful scenery as well.

Crazyhorse monument is way cooler than Rushmore (They are still building it).

Devils tower in Wyoming is really cool too.

Yellowstone spend a couple days there. We did a day. Couldn't see everything.

Just into Montana. The road to the sun (I think that's what it's called). Again a narrow windy long climb to the peak. My crew cab long box felt pretty big on that road. Lol.

Agreed , Crazy Horse memorial is something for sure . Hiway to the sun , Logan’s Pass is about 6900 elevation , Beartooth is about 11000 .

The dunes was on my list! But was maybe gunna do that down in Pismo beach area.

A few more pics of the set up… just doing some final packing next few nights.

Got water jug, Coleman stove, cooler under the shelf, high shelves in the back for more smaller items, chairs and spare clothing and all cooking / camp supplies tools etc under the bed. Plus the bed is designed to be widened during the night but left narrower for daytime use.

Just to give you a heads up, some US national parks require a reservation to get in. Depending where you’re wanting to visit, you might want to check it out.

We’re going the opposite way , just coming home from winter in Arizona . Gonna drive back this year , come thru Page , stop at the Grand Canyon , Antelope Canyon , make our way to the Okanagan to visit family and buddies for a week or so before we head home.
Bought a new toy to drive home, it’s an absolute hoot to drive , might keep it might sell it , not sure .
