River crossing

So our land is split by a large river. We have about 30 acres on the other side and would like to build a track there. Our problem is getting there. We can’t have a permanent structure over the river (and it would be fairly wide). We want to build a retractable crossing structure to access this land by atv and dirt bike and are finding nothing online. It would be for personal use only.

the idea is to have rails that would be spiked into the shoreline with a retractable aluminum driving surface we can roll in and out when not in use. Has anyone ever seen or heard of anything like this? Google isn’t very helpful.

Could you have permanent guy wires across river? Zip line your bikes across would be wicked!

Never seen it done for a bridge personally but maybe a drawbridge style would work? We have an aluminum dock set up with a hand winch to raise/lower our dock for winter. I'd want an electric winch if doing it often, solar and a battery would probably work just fine.

How large of a span are we talking here? I'm a Lineman by trade and rigging and tensioning conductor like ACSR and guy steel is what I do! We could set some poles on each side like F all and build a setup with guy wires complete. Easy peasy. I've built a few zip lines over huge dugouts, this ain't much different. Also consider the conductor we use supports 10 fold the weight you'd imagine.

i am thinking the installation of any zip line or cable across a large river would be illegal, installer may be facing large dollars in government donations! permits etc would be required, can't see it being done.

a flat deck boat would be way cheaper, in my opinion.

Buy an old pontoon boat and strip the seats and rails off, depending on the size you could take one or two quads or one large side by side across at a time then just use the quad winch to haul it back up on the shore when your done.

Maby try looking for retractable docks instead of a bridge. They make docks with large wheels on them for removing. You say it is wide so how wide is wide? Because if its more than 30 feet your going to have a hard time finding a retractable solution to work for u without sagging. Personally i would build a barge out of some barrels and lumber and pop a small motor on the back..
