Rims and tires

Question for the GM people. I currently have a 2013 3500 with a 3.5" lift. The truck has 20x9" MKW rims with 305/55/20 duratracs and they are too big. I can't fit mud flaps on and it drives me nuts. I think the rims have a -12mm offset. If I get rims with a +18 offset, will they fit with the same rubber or will I have to downsize the tires too? I bought the truck with this set up. It looks great but I like functionality over looks.

try a set of kickback or offset mud flaps, or google "norcal mod" for gm trucks. It's the offset of your rims that are causing the majority of the issue.

Kickbacks won't work. I had to trim the inner fender liner so the tires didn't hook them when backing up and turning.

You won't need to run a smaller tire. I have a 2013 2500 with a 4" lift and I run 35x12.5R18 on an 18x9 +18 with mudflaps and zero rubbing. My tire is .5" wider and 1.8" taller.

The +18 rims should solve the issue. But if you do the "norcal fender mod" you will can at last 1" of clearance.

Slamneck, no matter what rim you put on you will still have rubbing issues with only a 3.5" in that body style and mudflaps with your current tire size. If you went with a +18 it would be better but still will rub in reverse and turning. My suggestion would be to eliminate all rub and run flaps, go with a set of step backs, switch to the 285/60/r20 duratrac, still a 33.3" tire, same as what you have but is 11"wide rather than 12", and ditch the -12 offset and go back to the +18. Even with all three of these steps, you will still rub slightly when you get mud buildup on the flaps, I can't stand this so I would also crank my torsions a turn or two just to be safe. Good luck and sorry about the bad news, it's chevy's only weakness lol. The good news is the new ones ('15 and up) do have slightly more room in the wheel well, I am currently running 37x12.50 20's on mine with a 6", so your next truck will be better lol.

295-60-R20 Goodyear K02 on +19 offset and 2" leveling kit on my 17 duramax, largest possible tire size without rubbing or cutting

I have a brand new set of fuel renegades with brand new toyo ct 265 75 20s 34.3 in tall. 10 or so in wide +20 offset 5.75 backspacing. will fix you issue completely. 8x165 bolt pattern witch i think is what your d max is as well. 2700 bux all in with tpms

2011 and newer dmax is 8x180 bolt pattern.
