Yet another Ford stolen. I recently got an InReach and will be hiding it in my truck over nights. I can track it live all night. Even an a smart phone you can track. We need to be prepared for dealing with these fuggin losers who need to steel others belongings instead of getting a real job like the rest of us.

Sorry about your stolen property. Just throwing some ideas out there. I have no patients for thieves. Im scared of what I might do if I caught someone stealing my chit. http://www.inreachcanada.com . Of course it would need to be tracked while in cell service or wifi. I dont want to state any more of the obvious.

I have never come across any of these great deals Maybe if you do, you should call the cops

Yup. As simple as a phone call to check the VIN when buying a sled that seems too good to be true.
It's also about making it as inconvenient for them as possible. Good locks on everything and I even put a Kryptonite lock on the trailer wheels overnight (not to mention 2 cable locks and locks on all of the Superclamps). Nothing is fool proof, if someone wants it bad enough it's gone, but the bigger pain in the ass it is, the longer it takes them and more likely they'll skip it.

I'm not even surprised anymore when someone says Ford and sleds stolen from Best Western, seems to be the fairly constant items in these reports.

They wouldn't have had any idea what they were getting until they cracked open the trailer. If there's any consolation, it would be the look of disappointment on their faces when they found out what they got. That's not the point either. Old or not, it was worth more to us than what insurance will cover.

Security guard WAS supposedly on duty all night last night, for what it was worth. Security cameras weren't of much use as we were parked a bit too far away to make out any detail. 30 seconds to get into the truck, 25 more and they were heading out of the parking lot.

Contrary to my belief, pulling the starter relay fuse is NOT a deterrent.

I hope they fired that security guard.
Pulling the fuses won't do it cause these guys know where to look and lots of times move a fuse or relay around and away they go.
Best thing to have is a hidden interruptor switch for the ecm power. Takes a little work and you need to dig into the wiring/fuse box a little but much needed if you drive a Ford. Or anything I guess if your gonna stay in Revy!!

We just got back home, so I'm organized enough now to post some pics. Wow, what a pain in the arse to get a cross-provincial, one-way car rental out of Revy. Big thanks to Selkirk Car Rentals of Revy for stepping up. The main line rental companies in Salmon Arm and Vernon wouldn't even talk to us.

I'll try to give a few more details on identifying features of each, and post some pics as well. Pardon the 'action' shots. lol... These aren't all great pics, but wth... Note to self - take good pictures of your stuff in the event you need them for this very purpose.

Details that come to mind:
2006 F-350 cc XLT Lariat 4x4, charcoal, tan. Checkerplate tool box in back. Truck Town (Camrose) decal in back window. Brand new Good Year Duratrac tires (factory size)
2006 Wells Cargo v-nose sled trailer, white, long crease (gash) down driver's side where buddy turned too short around the garbage dumpster in his yard
2014 YZ450F bike, white, with Timbersled MtnHorse kit, FMF pipe, pro-taper bars, stabilizer and riser, Mtn Addiction tunnel mount fuel cell, brand new with no other identifying marks
2004 Polaris VE 800 159", red and silver, absolutely stock and stock looking, no unique dents, cracks or scratches
2002 Summit X 800 151", blue, electric start, MBRP can, looks pretty much stock (I don't have any pics of this sled on my computer)
1999 Summit 600 136", blue, polished tunnel, small Camrose Cycle sticker on center of hood, 3500 psi hydraulic hose mtn strap (replacing flacid factory mtn strap), MBRP can, not a mark on it.

The whole "good deal" thing is a hard one, It is hard to always know. Example; I just bought an A arm off a guy on line, says he has a bunch and that he changed his front end, so do I believe him? Call the cops or pay 120 instead of full retail? I bought it. And I know the pain of waking up to no sleds. So sure, too good of a deal on a whole sled, easy to check but an A arm, track, seat, you get it. Check on this site in the parts for sale, could any be hot? You tell me. Maybe need to put numbers on all parts like they do with new vehicles.

Dont forget to check craiglist, kijiji etc and make sure to expand the range of your search to 1000km or more
Have found stolen things on there before

Kijiji has a nice feature that alerts you by email when ads are posted using whatever words you used to search. Search using a few different words for each sled and set up the email alert feature. Much easier than checking every day. Craigslist might have the same feature.

I had my 2002 f350 stolen form vale just before Christmas with 2 2014's on the back. They found my truck and I never even went back to bc to get it. I sold it and the guy went and picked it up. It sucks but I would never ever take another ford older than 08 up to bc. I now have a dodge and haven't had another problem... Yet.

Oh they do, but the number of sleds stolen is likely much less than one percent of the number that go through there. Can't watch them all.
