Riding with glasses

I ride with a friend that wears prescription glasses and has all kinds of problems with fogging and frosting in colder weather, seems like he's tried all of breath box, helmet combinations but always seems to end up with lens fogging. Does anybody have a solution for this problem as I'm sure he isn't the only person having this issue?

I wear glasses and can't make contacts work well enough due to prescription problems. I normally don't wear my googles unless there is lots of powder. On very flat days, I will wear my goggles. The first thing I do when I stop is take off the goggles. On the really cold days, when I put the goggles over the cold glasses the glasses tend to fog. Just drive a little and they clear. On the days with lots of precipitation (rain or wet snow) or I am sweating lots, nothing works for me; googles fog and glasses fog. I get grumpy and there is nothing I can do about the fogging.

What you are describing Fernisnow are exactly the issues he runs into, geez I just feel for him, he enjoys sledding so much and I know this issue holds him back. Contacts for him are not an option but there must be a solution out there somewhere.

Glasses in goggles sucks for sure, my buddy can't wear contacts but has had good luck with fan goggles.

I tried one of those and on the bad days or the days you needed to see the most, it did sweet-tweet!

The other option is buy those fancy goggles with the prescription. Google is your friend and here is one link:

Go to Pro-Vue Prescription Goggle Lens System, MotoCross, ATV, Snowmobile, Skiing, Snap Lens and get the prescription goggles with the built in fan. I have been using these for 10 years or more and they work great. The secret is a good seal between goggles and face. The fan really does work keeping the air moving inside to reduce the fogging after getting stuck or helping someone out. I have 2 sets and one pair are always in the heated compartment of my XM.

Laser Surgery? I wasn't a candidate for it due to strength of correction needed. In that case refractive lens exchange will do it. You get correction to 20 20 vision for distance and reading. $ 4999.00 per eye is all.

I got some perscription inserts from gogglesnmore.com. Not a lot of money under 100 bucks for these goofy looking inserts. Put them in a cheap pair of goggles out of china, that were all of 25 bucks. Finally no fogging, however no snow blowing on the lenses either. But I still think it will be better than anything I tried so far.

I purchased a set from RX goggles. Basically the same as the pro vue. They work well.

cant ware my glasses in my goggles
i put a few drops of wd40 on the foam parts of my goggles
it helps out
before every ride
carry a can in my gear bag just incase
