They wanted too much for them, as an extra. I can mount them (with factory mounts) for less then 1/2 ;) :d

k, good deal.... I don't have that option on mine I would need to have the mounts welded on.... welding is not an easy option for me...

Welding is not easy, for me either. But the front of the deck does have a place, to mount guide wheels. They will just bolt on.

John Deere lawn tractors are worth it. Yes they are more $$$$ but you will buy 2 Canadian Tire tractors over time before you have any issues with a JD. Also try to buy true JD - not JD Sabre or JD Home Depot.

Cheers

For your info John Deere is John Deere, my buddy manages a dealership we had this discussion, Home depot machines are still set up by John Deere techs at the HD store. If it is green has the same number on it there is NO difference between a hardware store model and a JD dealer model. If there was that would be fraud.

The sabre line was introduced to be on price point with lower end tractors such as MTD etc. Less bells and whistles. Still a John Deere.

I choose to go to HD and get the price of my tractor, went to Martin and said can you match it they said absolutely.

I figure down the road if you need support the dealer is going to be a better place to start than your local HD store.

I guess my information is a bit dated. I bought my JD about 10 years ago and than 5 years ( or so ago ) I was looking to get a deck that was non mulching and larger. Martin quoted me hugh $$$$ for a 46" deck- to the point I said that it was better for me to purchase a Home Depot JD. The salesman said that my JD model was a better grade of JD and was far better (stronger frame , tranny etc) than the models sold by HD at that time and he explained the the difference in the Sabre line (hence the price bring half as much as Martins floor models.) . I havn't been back since to Martins and I didn't realize that since then - the HD models are the same as Martins. This is good to know - I feel bad about the decision I made 5 years ago ( i should have got a new tractior then and been better off).

Fawk that - you need some Monster stickers!!!! One big one on the hood for sure and at least 37 others randomly placed on the mower. Guaranteed to add 5 mph ground speed and 3500 rpms to the blade speed. It's true, saw it on one of them fancy snowmachine thingys once. Probably gonna need a wheelie bar too once the Monster stickers are installed. nothing says HP like Monster stickers!!
