I know this is an old post - but if you ever want to get out on the trails I used to know my way around McLean area quite well. Just picked up an ATV myself and I’m keen to get out and rip around

Just an FYI, I believe the area is not open until January 1, and only stays open in the winter until March 30. You may want to check on a government website.

For sledding or atv’ing?

I looked on the Alberta environment and parks site - McLean Creek has a vehicle weight restriction of 1000lbs. from Dec1-Apr30. It just says ‘snow vehicles permitted’ for sleds. In all my years of riding atv’s there I’ve never seen anyone on a sled - too many puddles and not enough snow

Yeah, that area is pretty much toast for sledding. Generally not enough snow and trails are in very rough shape with massive ruts in low areas.
