I was wondering if anyone was quad up in Red Water. If it was lots of mud or dry trail ride?

Mostly a dry trail ride.
With a good bit of whoops and bumps. Because it's close to home it makes a good half day ride

I find it pretty boring and get sick of the woop de doos pretty quick, if someone went in with a bobcat and flattened out the trails it might be OK for a mellow ride especially for kids & beginners.
For me in Leduc it's about the same amount of time to get out to really good trails near Drayton Valley so I don't bother with Red Water any more.

If you are looking to stay dry and clean.
Then Red Water or the Iron Horse are the places to be.
Pretty much Everywhere else will be muddy

Blue Rapids is about 75% dry, the Brazeau club trails are about 50% dry wet mix and Brazeau Dam is about 75% dry trails.
Blue Rapids is about an hour from Leduc, Brazeau club trails 1.5 hours and Brazeau Dam almost 2 hours.

Yes anyone can use the Blue Rapids and Brazeau ATV trails near Drayton Valley, both have a lot of great beginner to intermediate trails, both are ATV only (no big trucks), Blue Rapids is day use only but there is lots of camping at the Brazeau ATV trail area.

Thank you very much for the info.

Camping at the Brazeau ATV trails? Do you know the name of the campground there? Or is it just kind of crown Land where you make your own spot?

There's campgrounds too, but I much prefer random camping. Theft is really bad out there, so you've gotta lock EVRYTHING up, especially if you're close to the dam. ...doesn't matter if your in a camp ground or random camping.

Here are the campgrounds that I know of: https://www.google.com/search?clien...3!3d52.94511608554694!3m2!1i1072!2i678!4f13.1

Thank you very much. I've been searching for some kind of campgrounds that we can go to with the kids and be able to take off for their quads straight from the campground or very close by

Most of this past summer we were camping out near Entwistle west of Edmonton but that was for fun camping we didn't bring the quads as I didn't know any areas around there that you could legally go

The above is true of the Brazeau Dam area, the Brazeau ATV club trails are much closer to Drayton Valley and well away from the res so no issues with theft that I have heard about.
If your looking for a full service campground that you can ride right from your site I would recommend Out West campground, it is another hour or so away south west of Rocky Mountain House.

Have you tried Outwest cmaping South of Rocky Mountain House? There's loads of riding in that area and the campground even has a pressure wash station.

Thank you very much. So those are three different trail system areas?

If so I imagine one Trail is probably a lot more muddy than other ones..... just wondering if one of them is better for little kids on there two wheel drive units like a nice flat Trail it's not too wet and if there's more advanced stuff for when we don't bring the kids

All three have a mix if beginner to intermediate areas, Brazeau ATV club trails and Brazeau Dam also have large field areas where the little ones can ride around and splash thru puddles within sight of mom & dad sitting at the camper.
