Hi Folks
Well the tracks are on and work very good on grass and pavement so it
should work well on the snow.
See you on the trail

Hi Folks
For those that are interested in this build I will give the blow by blow points
There is all ways the cost,
The Rhino cabbed with all parts led spot lights and tracks totalled approx. $21,000.00

The Geo was 3K, plus paint and body work 1K, Wheel adapters 700.00, tracks 5k, winch, led light bars, all fluid changed , etc. etc.
close to $12,000.00

So nothing here is cheap, but since I enjoy being out in the bush it's all good

I was out driving around on the gravel roads and also to the old ball diamond today, being pretty aggressive with it, attempting to derail the tracks,
no luck, they stayed on and showed no signs of coming off on sharp turns and hard braking.
The alignment is almost perfect 1/16 of an inch toe in and I think that's why it can handle the abuse.
I installed a temperature probe in the rear diff. today no issues, took the diff plug out drilled and taped the centre of the plug and screwed the temp. probe in
wired it up and it works great. Gave it the heat gun for a couple of minutes and the temperature came up on the gauge.
On this model of Geo the rear seats fold ahead and leave the back end open for a large amount of storage, every thing stays
dry this year.
Installed receivers on the rear and the front so if I need the winch I will plug it into the receiver, and I will have the winch inside the Geo until it is needed.

Well that's enough B S for one day
See you on the trail
Don

Hi Folks, Feel a little chill in the air!! That's winter banging on the Gate at entrance of the Lake

Well the build is progressing along nicely, Santa came a little early this year and dropped off two
very high powered LED light bars for the roof rack and two more pods for the grill.
I put a few km on the Geo this weekend, the rig should perform well.
See you on the well lit trail
Don

Hay Folks
Well it's trail cleaning season, this Saturday and sunday at the lake, we will be
cleaning up dead fall, twigs and logs that cause me grief when grooming. Approx. 5km of the new trail area. If you like the groomed trails come on out and lend a hand.
See you on the trails

Hi Folks
Well there was a lot of manual work done on the new trail to Lookout point today. 12 hardy souls gave up their day
to work at the Lake. Just cleaning up dead fall makes grooming so much easier for me, over the next few weeks the snow starts to fall and I can
spend time packing instead of trail clearing. Got a bunch of the dead fall cut up for fire wood, it will make for a great place to meet for a night ride roast some kubie and star gaze.
I have also let the cross country skiers in the area know that it could be a great run, 14 km round trip.

So here we go, it will drop to -5 tonight and it just started to rain, :d

Hi Folks
Well for the last two weekends the Friends of the Lake worked very hard
at cleaning up an old trail that comes out at the north end of the Lake and looks out over the lake facing south.
This will be a great place to stop and enjoy a fire with friends and family. This is what's it's all about! :)
See you on the new Trail
Don

Hi Folks
Well it has started, We picked up a few inches of the white stuff today, the lake is still open
and we are lucky there was no ice prior to the snow fall last night.
Was out today and there is no frost in the ground so after tonight at -15 the process will
begin .

Hi Folks
Out doing ice testing for the first time today, was surprised to see 6.25 inches
of blue ice. I was testing the ice out in front of the beach, this is the highest weight rated ice.

Monday 17th- Ice tested today 8 inches getting better every day

Thanks Don. Always important to do a ice check before you go over it with any equipment. Lots of clubs have put gear in the water over the years. Lots of hidden issues such as springs, currents and rotting vegetation can all effect how the ice or muskeg is freezing. Muskeg is a bad thing also because its thick and freezes instantly when it get exposed to the cold air. Run your sleds over it first to push the frost down before any heavy equipment gets to use it. Just saying

Hi Folks
Well it rained here all night and it's still at it.
I will ice test today, hope there will be enough ice to support the snow we will get over the next week.
CAN YOU SAY TOP WATER :(

Well tested this morning, about an inch of water on the lake, and it appears that we
may have lost a little ice over the last few days. After drilling a few holes we are at 7 inches
and it is soft ice, the next few days it will freeze and snow on the lake, it will be interesting to see how much top water we get.

See you on the trails SOON
Don

Hi Folks
Well we did ok in the snow department, 4 inches of nice dense stuff,
it will pack well. The ice is now insulated so it could take a little longer to thicken
but this week's temperature is cooling to-15 at night should build ice at an inch per day.
I will start packing the trails next weekend, its about time

Hi Folks
Well after the snow stopped this morning the ruler shows it's just shy of a foot deep.
I was out tonight and started packing some of the trails close to the Lake the old Rhino was working pretty hard.
If we get the snow the weather guessers are forecasting I will have to use the Geo.

See you on the trails

Well last night was the first night of packing on the Lookout trail, all went well but noticed the temp on the transmission
was a bit high, I thought that might happen so I will install a trans cooler. I wanted a mean temp to start with before I put the cooler in.
It's sitting on the shelf ready to go. And since it's going to be - 30 this weekend it will get done.

See you on the trails

Hi Folks
Well if it ever quits snowing I will get out and do more packing. This extra snow will put the fuel bill up, good
the price is better this year.
For those that go for a ride the top water under the snow on ice surface is guaranteed to be there so be prepared
to ride hard when you hit it and don't put the kids on any ice right now.

Glad to see you got the GEO out and about. I suggested adding a big cooler and good that you have one ready to go. A little prevenative measures could save the tranny. How does it pull? Only light so far. Steers OK and seems to work so far??
