Hi AC
come out to long Lake Provincal Park. go to the first boat launch, off load there.
Ride 3.8km north on the lake and on the east of the lake there is an big opening in the bush, this is the start of the east side groomed trails, take off from there and go and get lost and have some fun.

Hi Folks
well I spent the day in the Rhino grooming the trails on the west side of the lake. I finished off north and east of the Steel bridge north of the creek
I hadn't planned on going that far but the trails out there were pretty rough so what the heck I went a little further.
Finished the day on the east side of the Lake, got as far as the trail that goes down to Walton's mountain.
We got a few inches of the white stuff today, just what the Groomer ordered.
I will get out tomorrow to finish the trails, it's suppose to get darn chilly over the next few days, if your coming out you better bundle up.

See you on the trails

Hi Folks
Well after 73 km in the Rhino yesterday all the trails have been groomed and are reading for a smooth ride again.
We picked up another few inches of nice dense snow this weekend so the whole area is ready for sledding.
I'm not sure how the snow will hold up if we get warm weather so get out here and ride as much as you can, the season was beat up with cold weather and then warm
so the miles did not get put on this year.
The temperature is nothing but could through to next weekend so hopefully you will get out here in a couple of weeks and have a nice ride.

See you on the trail

Hi Folks
Well it's time to thank those who assisted me this winter. the cost to groom the
trails here at the lake is not huge but it is still a cost out, I received donations from 12 families this year
and after fuel and repairs it covered my costs. This is so nice and it keeps the tracks turning.
At some point there will be the need to start a snowmobile club here at the Lake and it will be a great thing,
organizing a group for this area will not be a hard task, but to get it started does take the effort and the time.
I'm not ready to be a Snow Bird yet but it's not far off. So the grooming will need a new leader and the equipment and
personal to operate it will be gathered.
Start thinking about it folks

So many thanks to all that helped this year
And I'll SEE YOU ON THE TRAILS NEXT YEAR

Count me in....I have a cottage at Skeleton and ride south sometimes.

Where on Skeleton? I grew up at mewatha beach. moved out of the area in 2003. My parents and grandparents still live out there.

Hi Folks
Well the last ride of the year may have taken place today,
we met up with a dozer, blade down tearing out the main groomed trail that meets at the top of the hill
from the old gravel pit, I was told these guys are reclaiming a well and I'm sure there will be more traffic soon.
Had a nice ride today and if it was the last Ill be ok with that.

Well Folks
I thought I would put one more note on the Post this year, If you thought your trail riding
area can't be taken away, ask the Fort Club, no more riding area folks, the private land owners will
no longer allow the club on the land they use for their trails.
Just a thought about becoming organised here at the Lake.

See you on the trails

Sucks for those around the Fort, lots of kids will miss out on some good times. Not sure what caused the no driveing on private land but not good.
Long Lake may have it's own issues in the future as there are some "green areas" in the valley Hopefully a long time away. Some unique foilage in the valley - keep the quads out of the green belt to the south as they are the worst for terrain damage.
