Hi folks
There are quite a few sleds on the trails this weekend and on the ice.
Quite a few ditch banging along 831.
In my opinion there is not quite enough ice yet but those take the chance.
Measured the ice depth today and I see about 7 inches in front of block 14, I'm not too
comfortable until I see 8 to 10 inches for a sled or quad. There is Top water under the ice in spots so
prepare for that as well.
I was out walking the trails today and there will be a good base to start the season.
The hunting season at the lake is over at the end of the month and I will start the packing
then.
BertaB there is no rentals at the the lake but you are 90 minutes from the city
so come out and explore the area by day.
The County has plowed out the staging area this week so there is
lots of parking.
Go 5 km north of the Store at the long lake turn off and turn right off 831. Go about 1 km and you can't miss the
staging area
Now I'm going to let you folks know that the trails being so wet this summer sure took a beating by the atv's, the ruts are deep so it will take a pile of snow to fill them
so cut me some slack, I'll do my best to smooth things out.😉

Ill bring up the Staging site so those wanting to ride here can find the map.

So the season is off to a Bang. Let's get those Snow dancing shoes on and get
some snow out here at the Lake.

See you on the trail

Don

Hi Folks.
Slightly off topic but it happens on the snow and there are skis on the unit.
Im a Radio control flying inthusiust and build a large groomed runway on the ice in front of block 14 beach. So on the nice warmer sunny days you'll find me on the beach flying. This is an open invitation for any interested pilot.
Send me a pm if you would like more info.
See you on the runway.

Have a cousin in Smokey Lake that has a couple planes.
Will let him know, he flies a lot. Think there is a club there.

Hi folks
ice testing today, 10 inches off the beach and 12 south of the Narrows.
There is some top water so be prepared for that.
And stay off the creek, or you could be like the guy that fell through there last week.
County is crushing again this year so the trail across the lake will be busy with
truck traffic until mid January.

Don.

Hey Folks.
Well let the season of great Riding at the Lake begin
Had a great Night ride last night, put on 50
km and no carnage from the rocks.
And was out doing some grooming this morning.
Those rocks on the trail are still there 🙁

See you on the trail
Don 😎

Man. I had a 1980ish liquid fire. It wasn’t a looker, I would seal up the hood to belly pan gap (little bent) with duck tape so the melting snow didn’t freeze up the steering after a ride. That sucker was a blast for an 80 lbs 12 year old at the family cottage.

Riding at the farm next weekend - had to suffer with three feet of untracked at Blue River on Saturday.
Not a track to follow, was just terrible.
lol

Will call you when out but likely Saturday - having fire in da bush by valley.

If not butt freezing cold.

Be pretty quiet on the thread.
Was out last weekend and snow was great on untracked trails.
Best it has been for 3-4 years.

Groomer should not be tagging rocks this year.
Hope it's running smooth for you.

Seen on Facebook he had some technical difficulties with a front track on his groomer.......

Hi folks.
Well another 8 inches landed at the lake this weekend. I haven’t seen this much snow at the lake in 20 years. Get out and enjoy. Not many snow days left.
See you on the trails.
Don
