Where would you guys go for a quick "check out the sleds before heading west" ride around North Calgary or Airdrie. Just a ditch ride where you wouldn't cause problems is good.

Not many guys ride the sleds around the Airdrie area in the ditches. We go to Cataract or to Bearberry for the daily rides with the family.

Thanks guys, never thought of Bearberry, I might check it out this weekend, just want to test the clutch kit before the Golden club ride in Dec. Not interested in buying more parts so will need to be careful I'm sure.....

every county has different rules for OHV riding in ditches. Around Calgary, the closest one I know of is Nanton. Stay West and South of Nanton and you can ride the ditches without getting a ticket.

Stay off private property unless you have permission.

I am headed to Castle this Sunday for a spin to make sure things are still working. PM me if you want to join. Going early so that we can be back for kick-off.

Hi Everyone,

The Government has a Forest land use zone listing on their website (Link Below) that shows the avaliable land use areas, the activities avaliable in each (Including snowmobiling), and the restrictions in each area. There are numerous around calgary, however just be aware that the conditions can be less than favorable.

Cataract riding area is west of Longview approx 45ms. The you turn south for apporx 7-10kms where the staging area is. Bearberry is west of Sundre approx 15-20kms to the staging area. The Bearberry trails are looked after by the Olds Snowmobile club. It is recommended you have a ASA trail pass. Buying a trail pass helps support the local clubs and keeps our trail systems open.
