does anyone have one and how well do they work, also did u get yours in canada or the usa. I heard the one from usa work a little better and does anyone have a set and did u have a problem getting them into canada. I heard they where not allowed so i'm just curious if someone is using a set of them and how well do they work and that u can conect 2 or 4 of them together for tracking anyone in your group.

They work awesome! You will be able to locate anyone else who has a Rino. One thing I won't ride without. I have the Canadian one, with backroad maps loaded on, can't say enough good about it. Get one for sure.

Same... when i was buying mine i was told that if u get the US one and updated it in canada that it would auto reset to the lower bandwith GMSR recever :( so i bought the canadian one... and its so easy to use, the software acts very similar to a smart phone or Iphone.

I have the Canadian version, and if you want to go exploring, going places that you realize you can't get back up that hill, they are a must. Used it this year to find an alternate way out of Owlshead in Sicamous.
Wouldn't ride in the mountains without one now.

Just to clarify in case you didn't know - Difference between the Canadian & U.S. is the power. Canada only allows 2 Watt radios, while the U.S. versions are 5 watts. I have a canadian version with bacroad mapbooks on it and use it for sledding, dirt-biking & hiking. Linking the units together is a fantastic feature.

Well worth the $$.

Word of caution - try to keep it well away from your transceiver. Did my AST1 field session a few weeks ago & it seemed to cause some interference when searching.

Priceless piece of equipment if you ride in a group especially if you're in the trees or areas where you can't directly see everyone. Helps finding sledders that are stuck on their own as well as communicating we ride a few Treetrail's into some areas they're great for communicating back-and-forth. Have also use them a couple times in a white out conditions to make our way back to our trail in. I have had several all the US models. Currently I have the 650 5T and they are very easy to use

Well worth the $$. I no the differance between the usa one and the canadian version but can u use the usa one in canada and is their a hassle getting them across the border since down in the states they are cheaper but have more range.

There will be more range with the 5w GMRS radio for sure but otherwise they are the same. I ordered two from GPScity in Nevada and had them shipped to some family in Arizona, then had them ship them up to me USPS. I dont think the US retailers are allowed to ship direct to Canada

I was thinking of doing the same thing, did you save much buying them in the states? Did you get dinged with customs when you shipped from your family or were you able to ship it as a gift or something?
