Reverse on the zx chassie

have a 2002 mxz x 800 with no reverse whats the quickest way to convert it to reverse?

I was looking at this a while ago, I to would like to know what the solution is.

Need new computer, stator, flywheel, new pickup coils. In otherwords more expensive than its worth. Or you could try and track down a mechanical reverse kit

Maxwell What years have mechanical reverse in the Zx?? Or would you need to get one out of a S chassis?? Or are they even the same? I have a 03zx with the factory drop and roll. So not sure what might be involved if even possible

i dont think any....i just remember there being an aftermarket mechanical reverse kit. but i could be wrong.

mechanical reverse never came on any skidoo from factory that i know of, but was a dealer installed item.

there has to b a pioneer out there that done this conversion, ill take the reverse chain case out of my 97 formula III nd see if it works, will post something soon

Brp made reverse kits for the zx. I put one in my 02 highmark x in 04 and if I remember right it was a different kit than the s chassis.

Just replaced chain case,chain and gears on my 01 zx two winters ago,all parts were stock brp parts(mechanical reverse)

Mechanical reverse is the quickest and probably cheapest way to install. i just removed the chaincase on my 700 mod and put a belt drive in it - c3powersports belt drive. I'll sell the reverse if you want it - email me at Lshobie@yahoodotcom.

Yes they were a dealer option and you can still get them from dealer.

Cousin gotone off ebay this year, they are still out there.

RER electric reverse was standard on the Adrenaline, Renegade and Sport model and mechanical reverse was an option on the MXZX.

The reverse was an option on mostly 2000 to 2001 zx chassis. Most 2002 and 2003 zx chassis had rer. Don't take this info to heart, but my old s chassis I had with reverse, I think the front cover gears and chain are all the same with the rev till 2007. Just the back half of the case that bolts to the chassis is different. I think lol. I am to looking for a kit as I'm putting the family zx Back to a stock engine for the wife. Also interested in an electric start for an 01 zx. I keep telling her she just needs a banna yellow t3, she knows me too well lol

You can only get them used now, BRP doesn't have them anymore.
