Unless its immaculate (its a long box 2wd smallblock.....lots of em)or your in love its to much money. And for me anyway grill isn't as desireable as a 67-68 or a 69-70 but that's preference. And if its a project or gonna be race truck there's cheaper starting points I'm sure. Don't know all that much. Contact "gotboost" on here or "badass69" seems to know what he's talking about as well. Almost forgot....also "Deano670". He knows their value.

I sold a 1979 Chevy short box step side a few years back. Mechanically 100% A1 but needed some minor body work and paint. It had all the goodies. performance motor, trans/ shift kit etc. I needed a quick sell and asked and got $5000.00 for it to the first person that looked at it. Something to compare to anyways.....

A 72 should have the big coil over with trailing arm rear suspension (no leafs) if I'm not mistaken. Should be a smooth ride.

Rear suspension 1965 to 1972. Probably NOT the best truck for heavy loads but yes smooth ride.
I had two buddies that had 72's one was a GMC the other a Chevy.

Really depends on what you considered "restored". If it's not a full frame off with everything redone ( chassis included), diff rebuilt, new bushings throughout, new suspension parts, frame blasted and painted and or coated...... I don't consider it restored. But I guess I am dick like that.

An old truck with a new coat of paint and a rattle can rebuild on the engine is what a lot of people consider "restored". Then you look underneath and it's either roll on undercoat, or full on rust goblin.... With the same bushings in the trailings arms and cab mounts it had installed over 40 years ago, and a diff with probably 40 year old oil in it... You name it.

Not to mention some 350 powered truck with no options in it..... Are a dime a dozen. Plus being a 3/4 ton it's worth even less as they really aren't desirable to anyone. They are easy to make into a half ton if you want to though.

If it's some loaded truck with a/c, buckets, tach dash etc the value does increase. Obviously a big block would raise that again, but that is not the case here.

Ride really won't be that bad... but is it coils or leafs out back as even the C20's could be either or.

What is it worth to you I guess. I might think it's worth $1500 and you might think $10K.

I believe my dad is possibly looking to sell his 1969 GMC-fully restored. Seen the road once a year the last 3 years. Was just appraised at $52000 I believe. I think he is looking for $30000, but is motivated to sell. Make him an offer!

30 large for a long box 2wd GMC..... I imagine it's a really nice truck that your dad spent a pile on to build..... But that is going to be one heck of a tough sale. I am not saying your truck is not necessarily worth the money but I am just warning you will have one heck of a time getting it. Good luck though.

Ask Deano670 as he had a long box 2wd GMC with a pile of money in it..

Definitely know what your saying! He doesn't need to sell, but he isn't gonna give it away either. I know how he is, and he would much rather have it and let it sit than give it away. Hence the sitting for the last 3+ years. He does start it and what not to keep everything in running order.
