I supply the food service industry and I get phuck all for tips.
The Canadian Brewhouse is that way too.I never did, until my wife worked at a lounge where the waitresses would have to tip a percentage out the cooks on the total food sales. So if she had a bunch of take out orders and didn't get a tip, she would have to pay the kitchen out of her own pocket. Not sure if this is everywhere or not.
I supply the food industry with patronage and I stopped patronizing because they are to spineless to not see that an unvaxxed patron is no different than the unvaxxed server, who is serving in terms of risk. phuk the restaurants that comply, and forget about tipping anybody for stupidity till they start standing up for all their clientele vaxed or unvaxxed!I supply the food service industry and I get phuck all for tips.
Yeah we don't dine out with people #2. Its embarrassing.

We called # 2 "cheapskates"There are two types of people-
1. People that look for reasons to tip
2. People that look for reasons to not tip.
I guess this is the culture that develops from "everyone gets a ribbon at the track meet" in school now.We called # 2 "cheapskates"
I was speaking to the way it was presented where as if the server deserved a tip for great service then I don’t like dining with people you look for ways to get out of tipping?"Oh don't worry you did a shitty job but here's an extra $50..... Lol
Thanks for clarifying.Yes, all staff get to participate in the tip jar. Divided up at the end of the day. Dish washers, buzz people, hostesses, waiter/esses, bartenders, chef and chefs helpers, etc.. One of our son's girlfriends was a waitress at Earl's and Joey Tomato and when the movement came in, she wasn't a happy camper. Whether they changed the system to a percentage or not (less for the dishwasher and those not serving the public) I don't know.
I’ve worked in several chain restaurants in my youth. It doesn’t work like that....as a server you pay a small percentage of your overall bill sales to a tip pool for kitchen staff....the kitchen staff make f all in tips. Servers walk away with cash in hand and lots of it compared to the back staff...don’t ever feel sorry for servers..
