Awe, I remember riding some pretty nice snow in Renshaw into mid to late may.

Would the plan be to re-open once / if it does slide?

Is this the spot on the left side with all the broke trees scattered around? I was wondering what that was since I’ve never noticed those broken trees before...

No, you can go up Holmes River way.

Don't think it's 40KM but been a while cause why go that route when you have groomed trails? Recollection is it's 17 Km down the Holmes River road then take a left and head up to Chalco. I'm guessing another 16Km then up the creek to the alpine. Might be awfully overgrown with willows especially with this low snow year.

if you were up there riding and the trail was not passable coming down that would be your way out

Where dose this trail come out? In the alpine or along the main trail. I went down that trail and it never went to the renshaw it went up to the alpine where a trapper was working

There are a few y’s in the trail. You need to take a
The correct ones then ride up a waterfall.it will bring you on the backside of the stepladder...

from highway follow holmes river to km 17. @ the y turn left and go to km 27. turn left across creek. follow the draw up chalco creek to the waterfall and up. it could be very over grown. not sure if anyone has gone that way in the last few years. option 2 is @ km 27 go left across creek and then immediately right on old narrow trail (could be overgrown)not sure how far maybe .5km. if snow is set up you could shoot straight up. when it levels off and go left it comes to a ridge overlooking south entrance of renshaw. if you go right you come to the alberta side and can get back to the main valley of the renshaw. warning: be carefull of avalanche areas between km 17 & km 27.
