Renegade 800 snorkel

Putting a snorkel on my renegade 800. It's an 840 big bore with different cams and hmf exhaust. I was going to use 1.5" pipe and wondering if that's big enough or if that won't allow enough air flow. I know most are 2" but didn't really want to cut hole in my air box or have big snorkel that sticks way up. Hoping to just have this pipe in picture with an elbow on top.

Sounds a little small to me . Pretty sure mine is 2 inch . I can’t really remember but I think mine is just cut back closer to air box. The stock air intake sucks right by the tire so dumb.

It absolutely won’t be big enough for an 840. Try 2 snorks. I did this years ago with a big bore carbureted deal.
