Removing xp ring gear

On my primary clutch of my 09 summit 800 it has a ring gear for electric start, but i do not have that option. Has someone out there remove it? Because if you did would'nt it remove rotating mass and there for improve throtle responce?

correct. do it.



some people claim it effects the harmonics of the motor as its used as a balancer. buttt ALOT of people remove it without any effect to the motor

I have removed two of them with no trouble.Couldnt really tell if it made any diff or not except maybe in my head.Use heat on these torx head bolts if you do decide to remove it will make it a whole lot easier.
