Anybody out there removed a starter from a '93 or '94 honda fourtrax 300? Have been having starter problems for the past year, can sometimes get starter to spin and engage while tapping on it and pushing the starter button. But, getting worse, so thought I would pull the starter and disassemble. I removed the two bolts at rear of starter, and pushed starter back, but doesn't seem to be enough clearance to remove.

This has been an incredibly reliable quad, other than regular maintenance, has been trouble free.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Robson

remove the small cover from the gear box at the drive end of the starter, then remove the top gear, it just pulls straight out. this will allow enough room to tilt the starter up and let it come out. its easier than i t sounds.
