I got a 2007 m 1000 and have got my headlight removed, due to install of aftermarket hood. I was told from one shop I need to install a boondocker 100 watt resistor and from another shop I was told I never needed anything if I remove my lights. Can anyone tell me what I should do. Thanks.

I've heard a million different stories about this topic. Seems like a "to each his own" sort of deal. Some people say you need them, some say you don't. I've heard there's radioshack type alternatives though..

i ride a 2010 m8, no headlights and dont need one, and havent had any problems. I think its only pre and 06's that need em. Check snowest they have details on the exact sleds that need em to be sure.

I had the same question last year. Half the people said yes and half no?? But one fella said put it in even if you don't need it there will never be a question.
