Removal of willows and the cost

D8 and hire a local farmer with a breaking disk..mulching is cool but not for 40 acres.
If you have a low spot get a trackhoe in and bury the brush piles. Run over them with the cat and push the dirt over when done . Cheapest way proven over time....

I used to haul a D8 with a Plow on the back of it, for a guy that used to stump cut blocks for miller western. They work best in the dead of winter, the stumps just pop. Then hit'er with a brush rake to clean up and your ready to start farming. Mulchers are great, but like was mentioned earlier you still have to deal with stumps/roots afterwards...and willows are like weeds, they'll keep popping up like dandelions. :)

I forgot all about them things, Manning Diversified used to have one mounted on a 155 komatsu, I think they called it a scarifier plow? the plow alone must have weighed 20,000 lbs
