I took a close look at this feature at the sled show. It is awesome.

For $144 you get the part that bolts under the tail light and the 2 LinQ brackets. Cut off the existing tail flap and bolt to the part. When you get to the glorious deep pow, undo the LinQ on the tail flap and install the flap into the brackets on the tunnel. Pretty cool...................now I can be like the cool kids but still have a flap for the trail going up and down.

I'd like to see some pics of this contraption. I like the idea.

Norona talked about it and had a tail flap with the LinQ tabs in "His Top 10 Accessories for the G4". Didn't show it on a sled tho'.

If I get my sled in the next little while I will post some pictures.

He did a video on here last season showing it on a sled. I don't know how to search properly with tap a talk but someone does.

Just think of the snow flaps that will be had in the spring time littered around the cabin.

I thought this was a great idea too. So after I drilled out the rivets on the flap and went to install the linq portion, I realised that they do not work with a hitch bumper. This bumper doesn't sweep upwards. This means that the linq handles don't have room to open out to release the flap.

I went back in the catalog to see if it is written anywhere that they are not compatible but cannot find anything.

Had the dealer put the flaps on my sons sled and mine, both 850s only to find out the markings on the tunnel were wrong and are too wide to be able to fit the flap in place and snap shut! Had to hog the holes out in my sons to make fit and use a tape measure to put new marks in with a center punch to get them right on mine! Checked the rest of the sleds that were there and all were the same! He has put a call into doo to find out whats up! Works awesome though! Lol

Installed mine last night as stated above in this post and also on the online instructions that you should measure first then drill.
mine were off on my 2018 blue x FB68F62A-4301-459D-ADD1-FE13F4BD3D60.jpg BFE63F41-203A-4A8F-B921-D01FD2414E7B.jpg 2727A461-D8AB-4F90-B996-95D582CFAAD2.jpg

Did not know that thanks.

have another question for you Dave. My dealer sold me the limiter strap kit part number 860201105. Got most of her in tonight to find out kit was missing one bolt for the strap no big deal. Hesitant on drilling holes I went to skidoo.com to see if there was a different kit for the g4 turns out there is that bolt is in it and hey the instructions actually talk about g4 platform.so I upload the instructions for that one and then drill holes. Well the lever is too short and just barley touches the cam.
do you know if there is a difference between the to levers or the bone that goes from one to the other.
Any help would be appreciated.

sorry for being off topic

The factory punch marks are different on the '17's and '18's. The marks on the '18's work for the removable tail flap. The marks on the '17's are not for the removable tail flap (see Norona's post above). On the '17's one has to measure, centre punch, and then drill. The '18's are drilled just where the marks are from the factory.
