Does anyone know how to make a 2011 Silverado remote start timer longer? Mine shuts Dow. Way too soon on the cold days.

If it is factory you will probably have to take it to the dealer. If its aftermarket there will be some things you will have to do in sequence with the hood pin and buttons on remote. You willhave to find out what kind it is and look up the owners manual and it will guide you through it.

Factory is what it is. If you want more time than two 10 minute intervals before it locks out you have to go aftermarket.

Not to mention you can get something that has a range of more than 50 feet....

And really, my 09 was toasty warm even on the coldest days after the second start so I am not sure why your truck takes so long.

If it's a GM/Chev factory remote you're SOL, you'll need to go to an aftermarket if you want to be able to adjust/change the run time & extend the effective range. Go with a Compustar (run time from 5-30 min & 1/3 mile range) or find the one you can operate/program thru your smartphone from anywhere in the world.

Learned something new today on the GM truck remote starter. Although it does nothing for the time intervals provided you keep the Onstar active you can get an app to start the truck from anywhere with your smart phone. Check out this thread and near the bottom the guy gives screen shots of what you get:

Remote start, GM or aftermarket? - PerformanceTrucks.net Forums

So the crappy factory range issue is a thing of the past.
