immigration minister jason kenny is going to further open the refugee flood gates, maybe even give more of our hard earned money( 9 million more to a 45million budget) to help settle the poor souls. maybe we can reduce our deficit by giving this clown less money, not more. this clown provides these so called refugees with money until they become self sufficient, whenever that is. maybe we should all claim for the same.

There are many immigrants who come and lead productive lives, learn the language, pay taxes and respect the Canadian way of life. I know this because I'm married to one. There are many more who come, disrespect the country and the people, don't contribute, leach off society, bring their family into the country and they do the same. I know, my Mother in Law is a court interpreter for some of these types and an retired lawyer from Guatemala and she tells us all about it. Why does the government ensure a high quality of life and more rights for certain new immigrants yet allows the senior citizens who built this country to live in squalor? Why do I see so many new immigrants overloading our health care system yet our own people have to wait for care? I could go on and on but I'll stop the rant now.

hey orinn, don't stop you are 100% right. there are lots of refugees who are here for the right reasons. only we seem to not be able to screen the few bad apples out. i just can't see why we can't help the poor in this country first, and i mean the ones that need help, not the dead beats sho have been on the dole the majority of there lives. why work when the government will hand out checks, and the more kids you have the more you get.

SOOOO SOOOO True. That part about the seniors just kills me. We wouldn't allow animals to live the way some seniors do... I see alot of the same juxtaposition and abuse in the hospitals. I know not all immigrants are bad, but there sure are alot of them who are overburdening our healthcare with their myriad issues and refusing to try and learn english so that we can even communicate with them and find out what their symptoms are. Meanwhile, the waiting lists for procedures grows longer and the goverment makes new cuts to Hospital Staffing, Aids To Daily Living, Homecare subsidies and prescription drug coverage... How does that work?

I don’t read newspapers often, for the following reasons…
Article 1:
Canadian Tax payers pay to fly a know criminal back to his country as he is being extradited, but wait…..the pilot deems it unsafe to release him so they bring him all the way back and release him in Winnipeg.

Article 2:
A young lady is being extradited as there were some discrepancies in her answers when she entered the country. She is the gal being hunted by the king pin that had her family and several others killed. She watched them kill her boy friend and testified against him. She has a job, a place to stay, she pays taxes but lets send her back to be killed and keep the criminal ….

Not sure if the newspaper have all the facts because it just dosent make sense, but then again it is our government….

Here's one thing that was brought to my attention by a Chinese friend of mine and I have seen this same thing after spending a considerable amount of time in 2009 in the health care system due to my wife's pregnancy and the birth of my daughter. He asks why when he goes to the clinic or hospital there'a a 5-1 ratio of Middle Easterners, Indians and Pakistani's to all other groups including Asians, African, Europeans, Native Canadians etc. He forwarded the theory that the education levels were much lower in these countries therefore the people from there were in worse physical shape when they came. This brings up my point that shouldn't immigrants have to pass a basic physical before they are allowed into Canada to a.) avoid taxing the healthcare system when they get here b.) avoid bringing disease to the people of Canada c.) ensure fitness to contribute to our society. My Doctor is Nigerian Muslim and is the best doctor I've ever had, I love this doctor for the way he takes care of my little girl and my family and he is the exact type of immigrant we need to make this country grow even stronger. There's lots of people like this wanting in we don't need uneducated, uncaring or unwilling newcomers here just because they live in a dangerous country. The requirements for entry need to be more stringent that they currently are and, here comes the big one, we need to ensure that the officials letting them in are not on the take. Bribery in the foreign offices is a huge problem and Canada is so politically correct we won't address this problem because we might offend somebody. Oopps here I go getting wound up again.. rant 2 over.

A large part of the problem is we are formulating a society where it has become taboo to speak you mind, we are so afraid of offending someone we are forced into silence at the detriment of each and every one of us.We have allowed members of a race,creed or religion to collectively hold us for ransome over their every whim. turbans in the RCMP, reduced wait times for immigrants for social security, even french language police in quebec these are all examples of how we are being taken advantage of.
immigrants of all races and colours come here for a new life and a new start then demand their old customs, well the old saying goes if you do what you always did your gunna get what you always had, holds very true. This country is going to be the same mess as the countries they" we" came from.
