I have trouble with Shift Assembly on my Honda Foreman 97 . Did some research and found this
Honda Powersports' 2002 Honda ATV TRX400FW Foreman Parts List

If you look at the exploded view, I am betting that where the piece that sticks out of part 16 goes into the hole on part 18, that is what has come loose on mine.

Any recomendation where are the best service lcoation around the Stony Plain, Spruce and Edmonton area?

Thanks ...Called them and they are booked for next 3 weeks or so. Tried 'Get Torqed' and they are also booked 4-5 weeks.

Does anyone has others to recommend?

How about Rapid Revolutions or Coopersrv ? Anyone had service with them?

its the shift finger on the front input shaft. it breaks off. 12 dollar part....pain and agony getting to it...if your in a bind drop in, ill show you the procedure. all you need is a 10 mil, 8 mill and a few rags,

I don;t know exactly what could be wrong but pretty sure it is somewhere in there. Could be the shift finger. It is almost the the piece it our of socket (or could be broken) from the diagram, it does look like pain and agony especially if I mis something out. You mention "drop in" ...where is that?

let me ask you a few questions, they will be basic but important
these are yes or no questions

can you put the bike in gear
is this bike equipped with electronic shift
if yes does it function
does the shift lever spring to center after you let it go
when you try to put the bike in gear is there a whizzing or whirring coming from the front end of the engine.

total job time if its the part im thinking isnt alot...3hrs .however not impossible to do if you have novice mechanical aptitude. remove the front cover of the engine and repair or replace the finger. its really easy just kinda fuggly

im just outside of stony, but lets keep going like this. Sure you could bring it over and i could do it....but that sucks...you should learn to do it yourself.. own that chit!!!!!lol
Remember its only nuts and bolts!!

There is a shop on the southside called Triple M Motorsports. I have never had work done there, but the staff seems like they are good stuff. Rapid Revolutions is where I had clutching done and they were fast, well priced, and great people.

ABC Anyone but Coopers` !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ABC has always been "anybody but Calgary" for me but i was in Coopers a few times and the owner is a tool. I asked about aftermarket rims with the same offset as stock and he told me they were all the same offset as stock.{ Pretty sure most people buy aftermarket rims so they can put wider tires on hence the different offset}. So i turn to look at rims again and go to ask another question and he had just walked away to his office. I was in another time and very similar poor service. He wont be getting business from me ever. So i agree with ''anybody but coopers"

Sorry but if you rely on word of mouth only ,Coopers would be out of buisness..........No offense to you,as i am sure you are great at your job. To many people know the "history" of the owner.............
