Rear scissor cracked

I see ZRP and TKI have aftermarket parts for these on the monorail. Anyone put one to use and is this the solution..? or is there something else in my skid/set-up I can do to stop these from cracking and potentially completely failing, leaving a guy stranded?

The billet options are the only upgrades I've seen for it.

Same. Just seems the scissor is the weak point and it’s only like $40 to replace. Just wondered if a guy went with a stronger one if something else is gonna break instead , could cost more than a $40 replacement part. Or, is there something with rear skid set-up that could help stop this issue

Why on God's green earth, should a guy be drilling skids out, replacing bolts, installing springs, sealing air boxes ect to a new current sled


Makes me wonder if I made the wrong choice

Tex78. I have 2 of the TKI scissors on order. One is spoken for but I will give you first dibs on the second one. Expect bout Nov 10th or sooner.

Guy should not have to do some of this stuff

I expect Cat will get it figured out but too bad once again customers are the test mules for the design. It happens too often in this industry but we as customers pressure them pretty good to get something cool to market.

Chill out. I wrecked way more **** on my Doo's than my alpha so far.

Don't panic.
I broke a rail on my Alpha but that is the only piece I broke from punishing that sled.
I hit several land mine with skis and rear skid that would have written of a doo. Impacts that had me and the sled headed in different directions.
The Cat overall is way tuffer than a doo.
I did a shock revalve after the rail and then continued to beat the chit out of it, broke nothing.

My 850 was shattered bulkheads then bent boards then bent arms then a twisted tunnel and inbetwee that lots of belts.
Trust me, the Cat is way tuffer.

I’ve seen many tmotion’s broken and this is my first issue with the scissor on the Alpha, ain’t worried about it, just thought I’d see if the billet stuff is the answer for the future if it happens again. Got around 1100km on this one, I ain’t no Kesterke but the miles weren’t from riding a groomed trail

We all wrecked a lot of stuff learning how to ride Brandon. Maybe that soured you on the yellow beast and the doolaide and you didn't understand the learning curve. Jeff is just getting into it.............
Still on the learning curve and wrecked a lot more XM parts smashing them into the same things I've hit on my Alpha lol

The airbox is a huge F up can't believe they haven't figured that out yet. The rear bolts yeah a screw up but expected on a radical new design. The springs in 20 is an F up too but every Doo I've ever ridden was woefully under sprung as well with junk shocks you can't even do anything about.

I could understand his frustration. It’s a brand new sled. He shouldn’t have to do anything, just get on and ride
I've yet to have a sled I just got on and rode. They all need something just different flavours.

Maybe because I am a meadow muffin and only 160#, that is how my riding has been on my last 14 sleds all of which have been that infamous yellow color!!
Oh I don't think you've left them all quite stock Doug.

But yes you are right about the size they seem to set these sleds up for even though we know most mtn riders are overweight guys in their 40s and 50s lol

Yeah, don't panic. I think even that scissor crack is superficial. I cracked a rail but was running the shocks too soft for what l was doing one day. Keep an eye on your primary though.
