If you are not fit these machines will be riding your azz by 11:00AM.

Fit to ride these machines today - this is a joke right? Other guy talking about getting a butt off the seat to make it sidehill......whatever, sometimes sleds dont work for certain people due to body type (short arms, short legs, age, whatever). They simply can't get them to do what they need or want and that's fine, ergos are ergos, doesnt mean they are a lazy rider or just simply can't ride. Sorry fellas, go find yourself an old S-chassis or a ZRT or a Storm triple and try to sidehill a 43" stance with handlebars around your knees. Those sleds had a guy worn out by days end. Sleds today do not and should not wear you out, even riding aggressively but especially not when riding easy. There should be minimal input energy to make a sled do what you ask, and if a sled wears you out by noon, I'd say possibly your set up is wrong.

edit - sorry for thread tangent - carry on

Unfortunately snochuk, i have to agree with the above statement.
We're not all built the same and in time some individual's encounter unforeseen situation's that can effect their physical being.
I for one can not even come close to my younger self, yet my mind and head feel's i can till i try and fail miserably. Some guys will age in better form, all depending on many factors.
I wasn't exactly nice to my self and today i'm paying for it, hind sight 110% and you cannot tell that to a younger person.
10 years in the service as a grunt LOL, nearly 30 years as a heavy equipment mechanic working in what ever the weather was and sledding as a hobby but hillclimbing in the younger years all played a role on my physical health plus more.
Between PTSD bringing on anxiety to a broken back, ribs and shoulder, including neck from a 2006 chute climb incident at the BI. I wake up every day with aches and pains with limited mobility.
Ya i never lived in a 4 wall office building or school or sat behind the wheel of a truck day in day out.
So if a sled rides my azz all day and i look stupid doing it, so be it. At least i can still get out and ride some.

It doesn't make everyone lazy or out of shape because they are not achieving your skill level.

I agree wit you.
Never said I was fit or could ride.
I said "you have to be fit to push the new sleds".
Never said I could push the new sleds either and I am also well past my prime with issues.
Me just an average guy on the hill.......right Fastfarmer.

I would like to try the Alpha 154 this year.
Does it wash out easy on a side hill or hold a line.
165 holds line, hate to loose that.
After riding a 153x3 Snopro I may shorten up from the 165 next time.

Got to throw a leg over a stock Alpha 154 and a supercharged Alpha 165, this weekend. I put a little time on a 2018 Cat 800 162 last year and that Ctec 800 impresses the chit out of me. As far as the Alpha goes, the thing that amazes me is the track and the traction you have in a tight sidehill. You can walk that thing along forever and hold a line. That's the problem I have with my old Pro 800 163. Track has a few miles on it and all it wants to do is spin and not grab.

The supercharger... Unfrikken real. It basically adds 40hp from engagement to WOT. I have enough trouble riding a stocker to 75% of it's capability, so I'll never need more than that. It was lower snow conditions so we weren't dealing with 3ft of fluff. Picking between the 2 track lengths, just with my weight I think I'd go with the 165. It wasn't noticeably tougher to ride than the 154. Especially how the single rail initiates a turn that much easier.

whats the supercharger kit worth?

Lots... List on them is $7500 US plus install. Not my sled though. Two guys I ride with have got identical sleds built this fall. It's a Speedwerx kit. To be fair though, it comes with full exhaust (pipe & y-pipe) & intercooler. Everyone likes to compare them to a non-intercooled turbo, which you can't. From what I've seen of them, you'd have to be running high boost on a turboed sled to be able to catch up. The unreal part is they're pump gas (we ride 8 to 10K) and the fueling is as good or better than a stocker.
