Maybe your rear wheels are bent? Not uncommon with these plastic ones

For some reason my 2018 850 has a idle problem this year. It never really stalls but rpm will go up and down about 200rpm . Anyone else have this problem ? I have checked the basics under hood.

No problem with power at all so I would think the filter is fine.

Hmmm my 17 does this once and awhile. It might not apply but do you have an aftermarket can? And any venting?? I have the race hood and took all the heat soaking foam out along with a GGB can. It will run horribly till it warm up

My 850 has the same worn rail cap but only one. May need to check the rear idlers as I bought it this fall and still haven't used it. Need snow bad.

In them hills.
I have the same wear on my end cap. I even replaced the worst one ,aligned the track and set tension the best i could , after a few rides it was worn/melted just the same? Never noticed this on my XM?
Is it eating your slider anywhere?

Track seems pretty tight, not sure how much tighter a guy wants to go.

Had the sled up on the stand adjusted the rear axle till it tracked straight. Tension isn't quite uniform not. One axle is about 1/16th of an inch threaded in more.

Not sure what is more important uniform tension or alignment.....
