I recently purchased a second hand marathon deck to try. I have noticed that the ramp stringers are starting to bend. At first I paid no attention but now it is interferring when I slide the ramp together. I like the deck and its very easy to use. However I'm very disappointed in the ramp as marathon claims the ramps are good for 1500lbs??? Its now making me nervous when I run my sleds up the ramp. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to strenghten the stringers or do you think marathon will help me out??? Considering there is no marathon dealer close to me.

They bent after you had it or where they bent before? I've never had an issue with my ramp, its better then sliced bread.

I bent my ramp in the middle from running dirt bikes up and it was real hard to slide back together I just flipped it over and bent the couple of cross beams back straight
This was my fault for hitting the ramp a little hard with the bike I was thinking of adding a couple more braces like the ones that are a foot in from the sides

I quess I misunderstood, if the cross bars bend then yes it will be hard to close, I thought he ment the side rail extrutions (sp?). I've only loaded sleds with mine so far so havent had any issues.

My centre cross bars bent a little right when i got it on my telescoping ramp from marathon, but don't seem to be getting any worst. I don't hit the ramp fast and it bothers me to look at, but the ramp still serves its purpose, so i don't pay much attention.

They haven't got so bad that it inhibited the telescoping of the ramp..

They're supposed to have lifetime warranty aren't they? My buddy just replaced his for being "slightly tweaked". I bought his old ramp off the dealer a week later for $300 cash. Not sure where it's tweaked... :)

My ramp is bent to the point where I have to hammer them straight before telescoping it. I PM'd Vaughn about the issue. He said to bend them straight and double up the cross beams with a thicker tube. I think I will just cut them all out and weld in new thicker ones.

I have the folding ramp and have a little bending as well. No interference sliding back under the deck. I have seen the same thing on steel ramps on trailers as well.

i got my deck with the folding ramp to start. first time i loaded the quad, the ramp snapped in half. the quad and i ended up vertical and it almost came back on me. kawi 750 and i weigh about 225. took it back to the place i bought it and they gave me the telescoping ramp for 100 bucks. now the telescoping ramp is bent to the point where i almost have to bodycheck the thing to get it to slide together.
next time i am in edmonton, marathon will get a piece of my mind. two ramps, problems with both...

Did someone at Marathon refuse to deal with your issue? If so let me know whom it was. If not just drop the thing off for a day...you're close in stony plain--7719-44A st. M-F 9-5.
