You can see where the rail is cracked and someone tried to weld it up,but kept cracking...Does anyone know if it is repairable if so how,or can a guy just cut it off.Buddy is worried about cutting it because not sure if it would affect it elsewhere,Is on a 09 RMK,Thanks

I'd buy new ones..
Had rails "fold" in half on an old sled years ago, not worth the chance of them breaking while riding hard, imo..
Not to mention you could get seriously hurt, or hurt someone else, plus, almost certain damage to other parts of the sled... My .02

use another thin piece of aluminium cut in a long triangle and build a fish plate, but use a few stainless machine bolts to hold in place the weld wont hold.follow the shape of the rail from the extension as far up as the swing arm as you can get and bolt to the inside. will be as strong as normal just ugly.

My son's 09 shift cracked in exactly that spot, he replaced them with new rails after trying to have them welded once. I think he paid 350 for the pair.
