If you look at the vp race concentrate jug it has no chart for mixing to give you an idea of how much to add to get to a certain octane level - all it says on the jug is that it will treat about this ..... much fuel and it will bring it up by so many numbers - shellbourne charts it for you for just about every scenario - base fuel 87 or 91 and how much to add to reach the desired octane levels

I think the analog needle couldn't keep up to the digital - I hit 12lbs and just about hit rev limiter there

I feel sorry for the stock internals in that motor. That’s a lot of RPM and a lot of boost for an 800.

That is a bulletproof motor - if you knew what this stock motor has been through you would agree - construction grade - that stock motor can handle 10lbs all day and 12lbs once and awhile with no regrets no remorse no nothing - just rolled over 4700kms - taking her out next weekend and treating it like a rental

Good to hear you’re having good luck.

I had one of the original instaboosts when they came out after they changed the gauge of the pipe and never touched their fuel mapping. First motor lasted less than 500km before it $h1t one of the rods out through the bottom of the motor. I feel anything over 8 pounds on an 800 should be on a built motor.

The biggest problem with just about any TSS kit - is they didn't spend enough time to figure them out with R&D - I've had to completely modify and re-engineer everything - now it's mint - this rig has 3500kms on it @ 8-12lbs - probably seen 14lbs a few times cuz it folded up stock cages twice like stepping on a beer can

How does this compare to VP race concentrate/ Klots/ Torco Booster?

When I wanted some higher octane fuel I compared VP race concentrate, VP octanium , Klots, Torco and Boostane Pro and for my desired octane (95) for my bike, Boostane was the cheapest per bottle to achieve that result based on the price and quantity required from 91. VP was the most expensive and for me the 91 to 99 from Octanium was fine but again price was higher for an additive. Shellbourne has been around for a long time and its true not as many people in the West are familiar with them and at the time I could not get Shellbourne.

If you want to compare costs basically pick a volume say 50 liters, a starting point, 91, and an end point, 104 and then determine the amount of product you need to use and its price to compare the price per liter or product.

Shellbourne would need 1000ml, Boostane Pro would be almost 3500ml same price per Liter, torco would be about 1900ml but twice as much price. Shellbourne is cheaper if you can get it. Nice that they offer a "snowmobile" mix as well.

Or you can make your own from Toluene....

I can get all the shellbourne you want - I'm the western Canadian distributor - 91 non ethanol as your base if you want 10points to 101 octane on 50L of fuel you would need 1200ml of shellbourne

Thats interesting the chart you posted using 91 to 104 on 50 liters says 20ml per liter, my math sucks but is that not 1000ml for 13?, but you say its more for less? I am working so excuse my finger calculator.

My math could be buggered too - I think you were right 20ml/L gives you the 104 from the 91 on 50L - 1000ml - I was doubling 12ml per L to get the 10 points but as you go up you can actually use less to achieve the higher numbers - I think I've been mixing mine a bit higher than I have to - oh well maybe that's why it hasn't blown up yet under all the abuse

Ran into a guy at eagles cabin yesterday - he is running av gas - sled was running like sh*t - I'm not saying it was 100% the problem (fuel)- told him to stop huffing the av gas - people don't listen and are closed minded - it's frustrating because I just wanna help because I was in that same spot 2 yrs ago - oh well Ient him my 8mm socket anyways - I just wish people would be more open minded when it comes to fuel - my yesterdays shredding was only made possible by knowing that I DON'T know it all and I was open minded to change and trying it
