To make everyone happy this year we need a place that has it all. Quading, a beach for the kids, and a lake to fish in for the wives. Anyone know of a place like this within 3-4 hours of Edmonton?

tags_2 if you have a look at the snow and mud campout thread. The Outwest Campground might be the closest thing you may find. The Campground is quad friendly and just 8 minutes east there is Cow Lake which has an awsome beach, good boating and fishing for Perch, Walleye and Rainbow trout. Also from the campground you can access Prairie Creek, Rat Lake, Mitchell Lake and Strubal Lake all with excellent fishing. The problem your going to have finding your paradise is the "quad" and "beach" in the same sentence. Good luck.

I have been out a lot this year with the boys and am now want to take out the family and some friends to mainly camp, then canoe followed by a bit of ATV/motorbiking all within 2.5 hrs. Prefer crown land.

Thinking Long Island ? Or a lake near Robb if there is any smaller ones accesible.

I would like to go to Brule but it is a bit futher away and dont know if you can get a canoe down there ?

Any ideas ?

Thanks for the tip with Minnow Lake. We ended going to Minnow lake on the August long weekend. We found some pits to ride at on the Monday (after we packed up) at the Wolf Lake area further south.

But.........

My wife broke her wrist quite badly (6 pins and a plate) so we may not return to the area for a while.

Very good spot though for camping/boating.

Check out Chump lake just East of Boyle it has Quadding fishing and yes a beach, you can camp in between Chump and northbuck lake random camping!! great for the kids.
you can also quad to Skeleton and Hope lake and up to the north end of North buck lake. And the good thing is your only a couple of hours from Edmonton.

You can also check out the Braezua dam.

Try Brazeau Dam Staging Area. From Edmonton, head west to Drayton Valley, then head south on hwy 60 for about 60km. It has a campground, beach, and fishing. Then across the road is a bunch of quadding trails. Nowhere near as hard as climbing a mountain, but they're fun and there's lots of mud.

long island lake, it's 1.5 hours from Edmotnon, one lake is long island lake, the other one I don't remember the name. There's camping, quadding, fishing and a really nice beach there. Also, quads are not allowed in the campground.

I KNOW! there is a place in Swan hills in whitecourt. Kidney lake. We go there May long weekend. But even then i have went for a swim in the lake. Everything is there even out houses but it's not actually a campsite. Check it out because it's a great place to ride and fish!

Forfar campsite is a nice camp area, no hookups, allow quads, very nice water, clear, nice beach, fishing, approx 60?sites, that may be high, they fill up a month ahead usually, lots of trails, some sand trails to the south and west, muskeg, they are on highway663 fairly close to cross lake. Their phone # is 780 675 5253.

The place is the best Ive ever seen for doing all the above, and the nice part is you can drive your quad rite into your campsite. Beach on hot days, quad on rainy days,
