hey

just wanted to know if anyone was running tracks on any of there quads on this site...

i'm a surveyor and i already have 2 sleds but was thinking of getting rid of one of them and getting some tracks for my yamaha to carry more gear around instead of pulling around my skimmer....

any input would be great thanks

ill send him a pm for sures.. and i have a 450 kodiak.. with a clutch kit for it also so it will help turn them thats for sures.. but if i ever get stuck i can always use my winch or my 600 summit to help pull it out..i'm just getting sick of running 2 sleds for surveying and once we break trail quads can drive up it easily so i figure maybe tracks would be a good investment to lug all the survey gear around on my quad... since i'm wanting to sell my 550f summit

I;ve run tracks for for years and haven't had a problem or been stuck in up to 8 ft of snow. Luv 'em.

Mine are E Tatou, forerunner to Camoplast's 4S & snow only. 4S is the most popular and best selling, but most tracks are pretty much the same. Avoid Mattracks, pricey, heavy, complicated and the users seem to say - inefficient.

The guys that have trouble with breakage are the guys that could break an anvil with a toothpick.

Gunny has modified his 4S to greasable bearings successfully but my sealed bearings have performed flawlessly since new & I put 1,000-1,700 mi per winter.

Expeect a 35-55% loss in top speed, depending on the make.

If you get a hold of GUNNY, his Grizz will be a good comparison for you & he has tonss of vids on youtube.

Also, no need to break trail for a quad with tracks. You;ll be amazed.

yea ive been thinking of getting the camoplast 4s ones.. dunno how much they run for but probally around the $4grand i'm thinking.. maybe my friend can get them in cheaper since he has a huge stock of them for his utv's.. guess we will see yea my kodiak has alot of power so i think a 450 should be able turn them fine.. and about top power loss i could careless really since i get paided by the hour and could careless really how fast i go but i noticed when i put my 27's on my quad i lost power already in top speed.. so its not a big deal to me really

My Polaris 400HO (455cc) pulls them just fine so yours will at least equal it. Going price seems to be 3700-4000 $ out the door but it pays to shop.
