Well I've been looking at quads for the last couple of weeks, going to buy two,one for me and one for the wife.

After looking at lots of used over priced ones I have decided to buy two new ones.

Does anyone have a opinion on the Arctic Cat Thundercat H2 1000,I can get a good deal with two years warrenty.

Are these good reliable quads?

Any help will be appreciated....Thanks.

What kind of riding do you do? Mud ,fast, trail, water rocky etc. that goes a long way into helping you choose the right ride. In terms of reliability , the cat 1000 are not near the top of the list though....

I need a machine that can pull a trailer with my sled up to the snow line and the 1000 cc motor with over 180lbs of torque seems like it can do it easy.

On the Can Am....I just can't or won't buy Doo. Canadians should be getting these cheaper than the people in the U.S. and until we do I will continue to boycott them.:rant:LOL

That's so true. I have a renegade x. 2009 I'd like a 2011 outlander xc but at 14.500 plus winch and freight pdi forget it. And being the most expensive quads on the market they sure don't have very good resale or trade in value. mine with 800 miles with a 3000 lb winch is with 6500 at a dealer and maybe I'd get 7500 bucks on kijiji I coulda bought a grizzly for $10.500 and traded it for the same 6500 today and no warranty left on it. The can am even has warranty left. Not impressed with the math. They depreciate terribly.

If you want straight pulling power get the 850 xp, it will out pull all the others hands down.....Last year at the ATV pulls ,it cleaned up and made a full pull.
The Cat 1000 were distant seconds and the canam would just pull from side to side becuse of the visco lock setup, so they had a rough go...
Ask Drew if the 850`s have power...lol

the arctic cat 700cc and under TRV's are pretty reliable. the 1000 V2 in 2010 has alot of the bugs worked out of it but they are still not 100% in terms of expected reliability.

everyone I know who owns one, loves their cats:)

Its not a question of money,I could afford them if they were twice the price,I am paying cash, not financing.
The selling them in the U.S. for 2500.00 cheaper is what gets to me...they are built in Canada.

I may have to look into the 700cc class,I am a little worried about having a single cylinder,so they are reliable?
The 1000 H2 is a 09,what sort of problems did they have?

My buddy bought a 09 last year and has had a few problems. First being wiring blowing fuses from shorts in the wiring. Secound is oil cooler lines blowing off. Third us the slip clutch in the rear diff slips and gets worse the more it slips then transfers the power to the front axles and breaks them often. Overheats a lot but most big v twins do on hot days in the mud. Other then those problems the machine has huge amounts of torque.

I agree with rzrgade on the 850xp's. When I broke an axle then blew my rad hose off (i didnt know my fan fuse was blown) trying to limp it back to the truck his 850xp had no trouble pulling me and my quad back and the quad loaded down plus me is over 1000 lbs.
Personally I love my can am but completely understand why you wouldn't buy them.
