Wife was diverting air traffic around a no fly zone at Duffield. One shift in the wind and it will be me doing the evacuating.

Here's another NDP tidbit: they cut the budget for air firefighting by 25% this year. (wife works at Airspray)

There's only two contractors that do this, Airspray and Conair....and both are now looking for contracts in faraway lands. If they get these contracts, it leaves no planes here to fight wildfires. This will likely be the scenario next year as they were blindsided by the budget last week like everyone else.

I read that early this morning.

That makes no sense at all.

Did Buffalo sell all their bombers? They used to have a couple flying out of their red deer hanger when things were burning in Alberta.

I believe they did. Their hanger is next to Airspray's....I guess the wife has met a few of the TV stars. LOL. Even Airspray has sold the smaller bombers in favor of the Electras.

I had a buddy that used to work in parts for Airspray several years ago. He met some of them too. They used to borrow parts from each other all the time I guess.

Maybe that's because they figure we won't need to allocate money to wildfire management if they ban camping and back country access.

Be nowhere nice to camp when all the L-188's are down in California, Mexico and South America under contract and the fires burn here uncontrolled.....

I should go stock up on them D Cell operated ones at Costco, sell them later at a profit. It is VERY Scary out there right now, there was a fire posted in and around Strachan on Friday (North Fork Road Area) rumor is its under control/extinguished now..... We need rain in the worst way right now. All those people that were happy about the lack of snow this year should take a look around.............

Propane power. But it should not be used in a fire ban area.

Should be ok in a Fire Advisory area like Clearwater. Last up-date I could find was Apr 8th. 2016, so don't know what's up with the Alberta web-site.

What you say is correct. Propane fire pit is not allowed.

But a propane burner turkey cooker is allowed as a cooking device.

So a propane fire pit used to cook hot dogs is a cooking device.

I have sent an e mail complete with photographs of propane fire pits and propane burner turkey cookers.

These contain fires caused by oil and ground temperature reading for both devices.

I am hoping they allow propane fire pits.

I know a few people in the Fire Commissioner's office I can talk to.
