Hey guys I almost got the engine all back together and hoping to get it fired up today and was wondering if there are steps that i should follow in order to have'er running with out a glich?
I was told that I might have to raise it up to get the air bubbles out of the cooling system? How much should I raise it? and only in the back?

Thanks in advance.

Raise the front, not the back. You don't want a big air bubble at the rear in the tunnel cooler. Make sure there's no air in the oil line from the tank to the pump. I always put a little oil in the first tank of fuel of a new motor, personal preference. Use your tether for the first fire-up....you never know....more than one new motor has fired right up at WFO and gone into the garage wall. Get 'er fired and idling....check for leaks....watch the coolant reservoir for bubbles...warm it up....shut it off. Don't try to break it in on the trackstand....there's not enough load to properly seat the rings.

Headin' to Revy on the 25th for 5 days....might hit Golden for a shakedown next weekend. I like all years revs for mod sleds!

Thanks DaveB everything worked like a charm and lots of air bubbles came out...she fired up after the 10th pull and smoked like a chimney.
Now just have to wait for the snow to break it in.
