They are no where near 15G for starters. And if you try to tell me that you don't touch your new sleds at all before you go ride them for the first time then you will be flat out lying. I agree that nobody should need to go thru a new sled before they can ride it; point taken. But if a quick check of a few things is that big of a deal then a new sport is in order. Hell I had an RT1000 and multiple 800 Polaris RMK's. I'll get thru this one too. These issues are the reason new sleds come with WARRANTY.

As much as I don't agree with some posts on here that sound like brand bashing from some guys.........I totally agree with this. After spending close to 15g on a sled a guy should be able to get on it and ride w/o worrying if its going to make it 5km from the truck. And I have snowchecked an 1100t....sure hope it doesn't have the same problems if it would ever show up.

Very good point Maxwell:beer:

I think the only issue so far for the 4 stroker is the mechanical reverse gear....I would open up your chaincase and check things over before riding it example check any snap rings to be sure they are properly seated, cotter pins, etc.

That sounds like quite a third hand story, a tank of gas in 30KM, really, that sounds ridiculous.

Not impossible a good riding buddy of mine had an injector stick wide open so one cylinder was flooding to hell and the other was still firing. Sled ran like crap and went through fuel stupid fast . The fumes out the exhaust were so strong you couldn't follow him. Turned out an electrical issue shorted the injector wide open was a simple fix once the short was found.

Can we see the bulletins? Is the oil pump settings the same as the 2010? In theory if the oil pump settings were the same then I could compare the wot marks with my 2010?

Going to be a very interesting winter. I sure hope that it is a PDI issue.
As much as I'd like to say its a pdi issue.... I don't think it would be. I assume all these disaster issues that people are posting here have all purchased their sleds in different locations. If every a/c dealer are having pdi issues... There's definetly something wrong. I'm not 100% sure how these things comes in the crates and exactly what is assembled by the dealers shop monkeys, it's highly unlikely that all these issues are caused by some pdi mistake. I sure hope it's by pure coincidence that it is, don't get me wrong, but if not, somewhere along the assembly line, someone fell asleep on the job and now we all have to suffer... I hope there's no issues with the 4 stroke. I switched to 4 stroke for reliability... If its not gonna be any more reliable then a turbo m8 (mseries) then guess what I'll be switching to.......... lol

07 rev. Terrible for recalls and problems and $h!t motor. Rt 1000. Pile of doo doo that took a full season to even start to figure out fixes. 2008 xp. 40 some updates that should have been recalls. To top it off 800r engines only last as many km's as a belt on my nitro. Doo guys need to give cat a break here. This is the first cat to have major issues and im sure theres simple solution in the works. Let's hope so. Then we can all have a great season of playing in endless pow !!

I ran cats up till 2000 and and had quite a number of them and this is not the first time for major motor problems. If remember right it was 1996 or 97 that every 900 thunder cat had bad crank bearings and would go right away.
Every brand has problems at times as i have worked through two RT 1000's that were not that great to say the least.

Saying that cat fixed the problem right away and was back sledding within a week so if a few are having some problems it will get fixed and hopfully others will have theres fixed if needed before they waste a trip to the hills.

Your right there not. But after a 1200$ wasted trip to revy, a 1500$ helicopter ride, a 600$ rental bill, and a 300km drive to drop it off at your dealer your pretty much there.

I agree with max. But, let me point out something... Uhmmmm.. Unless every dealer knows I'm from fort Mac and try to gain an extra few bucks, which is obviously highly doubtful, everywhere I called about the 800's when I was horny for one of those, they all quoted me +/- 14g.... So unless you're riding a bone stock sled, they're as close to 15g as you can get these days. But I agree with you shredder as well, we shouldn't have to "Proof read" our sled we just paid thru the a$$ for... I hope something gets straightened out soon.

Hell yeah you are correct for sure. I am just about a 1400 km round trip to get it to my dealer if/when mine goes down. I try not to brand bash and keep all my digs in fun as far as comparing brands go. One of my buddies was actually trying to decide between a new ProClimb and a new XP. I told him that IMO an 800 XP will outclimb an 800 Cat in the bottomless powder everytime. He bought the XP I bought the Cat. I hope to never be on either end of the rope when our crew heads out for a trip. When a sled goes down it pretty much ends the whole groups day of riding, so why would we be so happy that sleds are going down. In the end when the tow rope rope comes out it sucks to be on either end.

Well said shredder.. i still do not beleive that it is a motor flaw. It has to be either something getting sucked in or an oil issue.. This is not the first year for this motor. In the past two seasons of this the 800 H.O motor i havnt heard of any motor issues that were not caused by mods that were done and even at that i can honestly say i havnt seen a single one of the M8's take out a motor. I had pistons in stock for them just like i do for the doo's and i have had the M8 pistons in stock since '08/'09 season and i finally sold them this fall, put them in a guys sled for him as preventative maintenace.

Not into the brand bashing at all, gets no one anywhere..

But can anyone point out a new model sled by any brand that has come out that hasn't had some growing pains?
