PRO RMK 800, 163 or 155

Hello ladies I am looking for your thoughts on what PRO RMK to buy my wife. She is an average rider and likes to play in the meadows She likes hill climbing but nothing to extreme. She was thinking a 155 but some "guys" are saying a 163 is more stable but is still easy to flick around. Her last sled was a 2007 RMK Dragon 700. Advise appreciated. thanks

Now obviously not a womens opinion but here goes:

If keeping a Pro stock I would go 155, the 163 is better on days with lots more fresh snow, but since I hardly find many of those days the benifits aren't there, and if shes an average rider she should be able to keep from getting stuck on those few days anyway. The 155 will turn a little bit easier in the tress, particularly for a lighter rider. Now comes the main point for me; a 155 will turn a little easier on the trail than a 163, my 163 pushes quite hard on the corners at higher speeds, but you learn to ride it, slow down into the corners and slowly accelerate out.

Now are the differences great enough to lose sleep over, simply put no. So do you get a 163 for the deeper days, or a 155 a save a few hundred dollars for a little better handling.

07 dragon 700 has a 155 track does she need more power when you think about it 155 - 163 only has 4.5 inches of difference on the snow

I have owned a proRMK in both 155 and 163 and wouldn't give up my 163 now. I honestly can't tell any difference riding most days but love the 163 on days where there is significant powder. We spend time in trees and climbing (I don't do extreme climbs) and we are both on 163's and won't look back after making the change.

Spending the last 3 seasons on a 155 Pro RMK 800 I've love love loved every minute of it. i do love jumping, and playing and do a bit of climbing, and my pro was fantastic. On the super deep days I do have to be a little more full of finesse but that being said, the chassis is so light it is cake to ride even on the deep days. What i liked about my 155 is if i was stuck, it was easy for me to roll out myself. Not as much snow in the tunnel as a 163, I could completely get myself out of a bind in a pinch.

I ride a 153" and love it. Play in the trees, jump and drop (learning), ride deep days, its great! More manouverable and better on the trail I find. Given enough time she would love either one I have no doubt, but I know when i get on a 163 I can tell.. right away lol Feel like im on a bus! Unless your into super climbing or ride intense deep all the time, I say get her the 155. Easier to manouver, lighter, shorter, and roll/dig out.

It takes a better rider to make the 155 work to its potential,My Mother went with the 163 after riding the both 154/163 at the skidoo demo ride.

I would suggest renting a 155 for her, and let her make her own choice. My wife rides a ProRMK with a 155 - 2.5" challenger extreme. She prefers the handling over the longer sled when boondocking, and she can get it unstuck by herself (which I think is a confidence booster in itself). Granted, she never rode a 163 Pro, but her last sled was an M8 162 with a bunch of $$$ into it, and she did comment that it felt like a station wagon on more then one occassion, especially in spring snow or on the trail...
