Going to be picking up a 2013 for the wife in next few weeks. I am unfamiliar with the 600. Is there any inherent problems or things to watch for? How about any mods that are worthwhile. Thanks

I bought a 600 pro for my wife last January, has about 600km on it now and we haven't had a problem, the only thing is the stock pro taper bars are a little to tall and wide, other than that she loves the machine!

My wife rides a 2013 Pro 600 w/ e-start - loves the sled. Suspension is a little soft for the aggressive rider, clutching isn't too bad out of the box, either. We replaced her handlebars with RSI units (shorter & narrower as she's only 5'2"). Uses very little fuel and oil - you don't need to pack gas with this sled. It's a great sled to learn on and easy to throw around, but in my wife's case (she's been riding for years) it is a bit weak in the motor department.(Her last ride was a modded M8). This year it has a Carl's 660 big bore, and a Kmod rear suspension, C3 belt drive for piece of mind, and MODS skis (personal preference). I will note the RMK isn't a sled for the sit down rider - you need to be off the seat for it to shine...

Nice to hear good reviews. She's coming off a 800 2010 rmk 155 and I think it was a bit of an awkward sled for her to handle. I'm hoping they this one makes her day a lot easier

Interesting. My wife find my 2010 600 155 super easy to handle. More so than a switchback 144 oddly enough. She will inherit this when I buy something different.

The switchback is only good in the flat lands. I bought my wife one and she couldn't ride that thing no where. I thought it was her until I tried to ride then I realized I made a mistake buying it for her. The rmk 600 is a way better easier handling sled. I had a 07 600 155 rmk and loved it. Then bought a 08 800 dragon and the 600 was a way better handling sled.

I've put on 1400 kms on my Pro with no mechanical issues. Completely stock (so far). Yes it does have less power than an 800, but for what i do, it works great. It has gone places that I would not have went on my older sleds (edge RMK700). Not like I do this a lot, but on the big long pulls, it does run out of legs, so you will get creative on a new line. The handling is my favorite upgrade, and at the end of the day, I'm not all beat up and sore.

I bought a 2013 RMK 600 after my 2010 800 dragon blew up 3 times jsut to get me by till the end of the season .The RMK 600 is 100% better than the dragon ever was. My son loves it even more than I do. I even snow checked a new 800 Pro for myself. I would have no problem taking the 600 out and giving my son the new 800.

How have the 600s you guys got holding up?
From what I’ve read they seem like a good starter sled and more reliable then the 800s

They're an awesome motor. My dad has one that he rode for a few years before upgrading to an 800. I had one for the wife for a few years too. And a couole other family members have a pair of them.
They simply don't have the issues the 800's of the time had. And the power and is pretty linear and predictable which is good for timid riders.

The 600 CFI is probably Polaris’s most underrated and most reliable motor they have produced. We have a 2020 for my wife and being in the Axys is nice but she previously tried a 13 600 Pro 155 which was just as capable and in 2013 me riding that 600 is what sold me on the Proride chassis coming off Doo for a number of years.
They can be built up a little with different heads and of course 660’s but I found the 600 to benefit from gearing it down and throwing some adjustable weights in it.
The series 5 2.4 track is pretty durable as well.

Wow, 10 years ago I made a comment in this thread. I snow checked a 600 back in 2013. It's now owned by one of my buds and is a regular in our riding group. That Pro 600 is still going strong. Besides regular cleaning, maintenance, it hasn't had any problems.
Things like the motor itself, belt drive system, track all been great. It's been in Revy, Golden, Crowsnest, Fernie and many miles in the central AB.

My wife had a 2013 non pro 600 RMK 144". It was an awesome sled. Had it for 9 years. Never had any issues. Upgraded to a '22 doo 850 154".
I wouldn't be afraid to get another 600.
