Princess auto sled lift

I bought a new princess auto sled lift.
I have a 21 expert 165 and the screw jack hits the skid plate.
If I pull the lift closer to the front, it doesn’t lift the track off the ground.
Has anyone modded these lifts to work better?
I tapped hockey pucks and ran a 4” bolt through to try and support the back end
But the left uses m8 bolts so they flex east when 3.5” out
Any help is appreciated

I slide a 30” 2x4 under the back running board . Back of the lift rests on it. The track raises a few inches higher.

Put a 2x4 through the track like Sledn said, and also I put one on the front cross piece that goes under the bulkhead. This should keep the screw jack from hitting (I don;t know how high you need to go but hopefully it will help).

I extended the rear supports by a few inches, and put a block on the front lift point to offset for the chaincase cup.

I have a 3" block I put at the back to help level sled and lift track off ground. Adding a spacer to the front should do the same.
On another note, these lifts are not very wide, so they get tippy if rolling across the floor. I added a bar on the front to move the wheels outward, which added a good 10-12" of width, much more stable.

should work with G5 with same issue as op is having though (G4)

I built these little extensions with some 1x1 steel tubing. Made a little 3x4 pad and riveted a chunk of rubber on where it contacts the running boards. Been using it like this for probably close to 10 years and sled is level and stable

do those goony little lifts help in any way whilst working on a sled?

Looks like it wouldnt take much to tip it over.?

I haven't had any issues wheeling the sled around the shop with it, as long as I keep it low to the ground. I wouldn't want to pull it around too far with it extended. It's certainly nice doing some clutch work or chaincase maintenance when its 3 feet in the air and I'm sitting on the shop stool.

Mine has been great. I wheel it around all the way up. About 10 years old.Makes it easier to work on and move around the garage. Long crank handle but I just use a drill...

I pre drilled a chunk of 2x4. Use a lag bolt through bottom hole. Then cut another block and screwed it to the other, so that the wood/ lifting point is always at correct angle and is stable when flipped up.

I used to give them away as prizes years ago and no one complained about them have two in my shop now for 15 years

I love mine for engine/clutch work, but if the skid is coming out I still use the eye bolt in the rafters to hang the back end.

They have their place, but are certainly not great for everything. That being said, I am still very happy to have one available when needed.
