Are you living under a rock? There's a non-stop line of guys crying on FB about it. Used market has been tanked since last year, and no one is buying new (snow checks were down like 70% or something), which is why the dealers are dumping their new stock for less than what guys own on their 2 yr old models. First they overpaid, now that same dealer just saddled them with a mountain of negative equity!The used sled market is soon to crash due too the looming out-look of the snowmobile industry over all...
Costs,,, weather,,, uncertain labour markets and other underlying factors...
This was the out look back in August,,, and the slow down can been seen at dealerships all across Canada with limited sales...

I don't think MSRP will drop anytime soon. We will see lots of incentivized pricing, like the zero % financing. I just picked up a new truck and there was a $12,000 discount. MSRP 92,000 and got it for $80,000 with employee pricing. I didn't ask for the discount, just found the deal on Kijiji as the truck came from Sask.

19,500 is actually what the MSRP should be.... and a wicked deal would be 14-15G

In 14 I said I would never buy new again lol then again in 19... and again in 23... Maybe i will learn this time though... the new sleds from the last few years are so deadly... the new sales will need to bring something more than BNG

Same here. Like a dummy I paid 26 grand for my 23 turbo. I won’t be upgrading anytime soon.

Unfortunately I feel like you are correct... the manufacturers will do everything in their power to convince consumers that their MSRP is justified, but use "discounts" and 0% financing to lure potential buyers.
People need to hit the reps up at the sled shows and make sure they know that their pricing is just plain wrong...
Then make ridiculous offers on new products... tell the dealer to go talk to their area reps, because we all know that the dealer is getting squeezed, but the manufacturer is the one making the profits...

Yes I agree that the reps need to hear it, but make absolutely NO mistake, the dealers ARE NOT getting squeezed as much as they like you to believe. That's just the standard song and dance they tell you and I'll start to believe it when I see dealers selling sleds from an open yard and the office is an ATCO trailer. Pretty hard to swallow that BS when they have a huge glass walled showroom with demo sleds the mechanics and owners ride every weekend, multiple depts from finance, sales, parts, service, etc etc etc. You don't carry that kind of business overhead on a shoe string profit. Don't forget - they all added a healthy "dealer markup" to every sale during covid, just because they could. I don't know if thats still a thing or if its just hidden in the fees now (on top of that $500 admin fee for simply taking your money.......

I would be glad to deal at a place in the ATCO trailer, that sold units near their cost, then made money on the crew that required constant parts & maintenance, with a few well compensated techs that actually know something.
My issue is seeing a few "lazy lions" lounging around the sales office, being over compensated, and then having a shop full of low paid no minds that can't diagnose a faulty spark plug. Typical for decent techs to end up moving on to other industries and professions where they are appreciated and rewarded.
At the end of the day, its the manufacturer that's promoting this, because they make more money pushing units, than worrying about customer satisfaction.
Blows my mind how guys spend 25-30G, and have continual problems with simple things like clutching and driveline issues. There's been 2-3-400 Hp sleds for years, with 3" 174" tracks with 4S torque that didn't have the amount of problems like today.
AND GUYS ARE STILL BUYING THESE NEW SLEDS WITHOUT ANY PROTEST....??!!!

Makes a person wonder if all the dealers combined across Canada can sell 10.000 new units...
Ontario and Quebec had the largest sales over the years,,, sales have dropped off alot due too the cost of everyday living,,, rising costs on all goods and job uncertainty...
A national unemployment rate of 5 and 6% is board line,,, anything greater then that is bad...
All of Us know what happens if it hits 10 and 12% Canada wide...
Dealers are struggling in all sectors including power-sport...
Manufacturers will throw in some warranty and zero interest at xxx months too see if they can get things moving...
Slim picking on pepole walking in the door ready too pay full price when they can hold off too see what the economy does...
The lack of snow also plays a role in the sport...
There aren't vary many people willing too drop $20 k on a toy if they can only use it 2 or 7 X's a year...
Little lone 2 units at that cost...
XXX funds are better used for things that matter...
Maybe a new truck or car with a bit left over for a Snow Blower or a garden tractor...
The price tag on them is threw the roof too...
None of Us like an expensive Canada !!!

When ur a frugal guy, it is not hard to find a snow blower with a dirty carb or blown belt for 50$, fix it for 20.
Then you can blow snow all winter long,and ride your 5g sled every where the 30g ones go! Ha
One doesnt have to spend lots to enjoy winter sniw. Deep deep beep beep ext

That is so true,,, the rising costs play a major role in my hobbies...
Back in the day i liked putting funds into old cars and trucks,,, got a chance too wreck alot of crap...
Motorcycles of all kinds,,, mega shooting sports back then,,, 1000's apoun 1000's of fire arms dealing with emol man of many guns.

I had 100's of hobbies and actives going at 20 years young,,, snowmobiling was in there in central Albetra...
Of course it took off on my first sled trip in 1990 something in Vermont
Second day out i teamed up with a guy named Venice,,, that fuvker could ride...
He took us waaaaay waaaaay back into Allan...
I was hooked,,, I knew at that very moment i wanted too ride ( All of BC ) and as many wild cat areas i could hit...
12 or 14 years non stop from top too bottom,,, the only place I missed was the West coast and Alaska,,, other then that i burnt up alot of sleds and belts...
When super chargers came out i jumped on board...
Lots of positives with boost,,, and some negatives...

Did i mention that when your wild-cating you should pack whats needed...
Yaa,,, im guilty,,, towards the last 5 years I sledeed alone all by my self and mostly at night...
I got pinned down with weather back in the key stone for 3 nights,,, no biggy since I adapted too ruffing with sled,,, snow shoes and my back pack...
Sleep here sleep there didn't matter because the gear drier was under the hood...
Melted alot of crap...
The costs kept climbing and I was in...
The Key,,, 51,,,and Ren were my top local picks...
Hope and the Mac were my 2nds
Lots of gas,,, lots of everything...
Once i left the staging-area there was no coming back till I was full,,, 48 hours or 78,,, it didn't matter because I was living the dream...
Then the scales changed for me in 2011,,, age,,, funds,,, other hobbies,,, life,,, and hwys...
I already had 3 or 4 life times burning the roads threw out all of Western Canada for 30 ish years,,, little lone all the trips in our America's...
I ended up covering too much ground,,, trucks,,, sleds and bikes...
2/3's of my life was sledding,,, I guess i over did it,,, I still dream of the life style but my body says no...
My wallet is wrapped up pretty tight with rubber bands these days,,, Us old timers know that old saying !!! Lol
Ahhh yes,,, the costs of good times and what matters most...
I see things in different light (s)...
A person can spend some funds to make life simpler and easier allowing one too reap the rewards...
Save time,,, energy and funds over-all...
Or
Pay less by adding more time and energy to accomplish the same goal...
If the goal is be'ing out there...
Not investing alot in recreation,,, sport or hobby seems too add beneficial rewards too my inn'er be'ing
I still travel too places threw out BC and AB to find spots where very few humans go...
Some places are far,,, some close,,, I still have too foot the bill (s) on distance,,, but once im there it cost me pennies on the dollar...
Same goes for sledding,,, if your there and never leave it cost next too nill too stay on the mountain and live up there because your there...
Hard to explain on the web but others can pick and choose my jest...
The power sport's industry got a free ride during the pandemic years and now the coin is flipped...
$xxx for this and $xxx for that...
All i know is it costs me nothing too sit on top of any mountain i choose in Our America's...
And even better is finding secluded at ones door step...
The free'est mode of travel is boots on the ground because it works all around the world...
Boots will take humans further and slower then all modes of transport...
Is it time or funds that play a role in what we're after...
Gota run,,, snow is pilling up and i don't know how to get rid of it ...
