2012 Ford 6.7 deleted and tuned with bully dog unit, factory exhaust with dpf section removed and small muffler, EGR delete.

At idle it seems to run 2psi of boost, when the VGT cycles it drops to 0 or 1 psi and smooths out for 1 second than ramps back up again...normal?

EGT temp...i have the bully dog probe in the factory hole in exhaust manifold, i always run in tow mode and drive alot of highway, if i stomp on it merging or something, not even towing, i can get the egts into the 1000-1100 range pretty quick. I'm sure a CAI might help a bit but don't want to clean filters or risk filtration. I only use ford parts for maintenance.

I know lots of your guys have these trucks, just wondering if mine is any different...Thanks

I think pyro is pre turbo if you are using factory.

All the rest is normal.

1000-1100 pre turbo isn't very hot at all. If you air filter is dirty change it out and see if that helps.

Yes pyro is pre turbo. Its a bully dog pyro in the EGR block off plate.

I've been searching the internet for stuff like this but not very many people in the states are deleted, and even less use the newer bully dog unit. Recently i've been getting a "reduced engine power" warning everytime i start the truck and the chip comes on. Truck runs fine, but i guess i have to go to the dealer to get rid of that message...truck didnt pull any codes.

i have a 13 deleted but with a full exhaust, also with the bully dog, and a k&n filter, ya mine is different, my idle does not change but not sure what the boost is at but will look, it takes a good hill empty to hit 1100, I would say I run about 8-900 if you just lay into it. your exhaust will be holding in that extra heat.

Thanks Shrek, i use my truck for work and its company logo'd so i wanted to keep the exhaust somewhat quiet...maybe a full 5" with a big donaldson straight thru muffler in the future. Did you do an EGR delete?

i just did mine last week, it isnt that hard, just take your time and it goes quite easily. if your truck has a few miles on it there are 2 bolts on the top of the engine that can be a bugger to get out (i have read online). my truck is a 13 with 40 K on it and they came out easy. once the egr cooler is out of there it sure cleans up the engine compartment and you can actually see the turbo in there!!

Take that muffler off, see if that helps. Try getting colder intake temps will also reduce exhaust temp.

I set the bully dog to read intake temp and its bang on outside temperature. I've been running in stock mode the last few days and it seems to run a bit smoother and of course cooler egt's.

EGR isnt too bad to remove, only a few swear words for the bolt on the back of the cooler that is next to the firewall that helps hold some wiring... Mine was removed at 110,000kms.

Are you folks having any issues with the dealership and warranty after deleting. I have a 2014 f 350 with a 6.7, and was thinking about doing exhaust, egr dete. I was told that a 4" exhaust with a muffler is quieter than the 5" exhaust with a muffler, is this true? Sorry to highjack.

After riding around with a buddy that has his 12 deleted with a 5" and muffler i chose to do mine with a 4" and muffler. I found the 5" to drone way to much and was also told there is no real benefit to the 5" other than noise and looks

Dont be sorry, feel free to add to the conversation. It all comes down to your dealership and the relationship you have with them. The local dealer near me has been really good, but i haven't taken my truck in since deleted... i do my own maintenance. Last time i was in for a failed DPF sensor that left me stranded, they asked if i have a tune. They didnt want to update the PCM if i had a tune loaded.

Yes did did the egr delete and 5" exhaust, truck has a good bark when under load but it's quite in the cab but no rude outside either. I think it's the perfect package.

Had my transfer case go out on me after it was deleted, they never said a thing, I'm sure if it's an engine issue it would be totally different, once I have 25 k on my new truck it's getting deleted too, willing to roll the dice, 6.7 is pretty solid engine

THanks guys. What are you folks running for a programmer and exhaust options?

I'm running the bully dog delete tuner with a 4" dpf replacement pipe with small muffler just past the downpipe, factory rear section. I don't love the bully dog tunes, i think h and s had better.
