Called today with the intent on postal service shipping even though it takes a lot longer. Guy said to use the UPS way because it is the worldwide saver option and all brokerage fees are covered when I pay shipping. I checked and it does say that on their website. They didn't know much about the power of attorney thing so I called UPS. At first talking to them it sounded like I didn't need to do the form but then she said I did, then she said I didn't. So now I am confused.

Found this https://www.ups.com/content/us/en/shipping/international/documents/intl_forms/declaration.html

Seems like power of attorney is used with every option.

I guess it must be common I mean it must be right. Just seems strange to me.

I am almost thinking of going with another product even though I have researched it to death and decided on this stuff for a reason.

a POA is a must if you are going to have them clear the goods on your behalf. The POA is simply giving them permission to represent you when making the customs declaration.

I used to hate UPS with a passion, but lately I've had good luck with them. Rule of thumb is to make sure you use an option that has prepaid brokerage fees. As far as taxes and duty goes, that isn't on UPS and up to the person shipping to fill out the paperwork properly. I'm in a rural community and Purolator has the contract to deliver for UPS out here.

Yep, UPS and FedEx are a thieving bunch of ne'r do wells with their friggin brokerage fees...you not only get it up the tailpipe from them, but they also use a wire brush to do it! I usually avoid those two companies...I just ordered some fat sacks for my boat and they were late with the order, so they thought they would do me a solid by expediting them with UPS...pffft thanks a lot guys, scared to see what I'm going to get dinged with tomorrow when I pick them up.

Well, I'm $ 88.00 lighter today, and I didn't even get a reach around...
