has anyone heard much about these. suppose to keep them running cooler. havent really seen much info on the net about them. theres a few guys at home that are putting them on. expensive 200-250 bucks.
Same as the enginetech setup and a few others. T-stat opens sooner to keep the sled running cooler. This prevents it from pulling timing when coolant temps rise during a climb.
I'm skeptical personally. Never seen my XM get over 4 bars except on bare azz trail certainly not in the steep and deep. Maybe more of an issue in spring hero snow.
AWESOME! the powder freaks flows more then the engine tech and the thermostat keeps it at 120 I believe, I just put one on my 09 xp which was plaqued with over hot running from day one and now it stays around 100 on my digitron and doesn't come close to retarding the engine. Pricey yes but worth it.
Put one on my xm , ran 3 bars all day , saw 4 bars a few times while sitting , seems good to me , pain in the ass to install , it's pretty tight in there but worth it I'd say
Those are the exact same stat that I sell alot of. They are NOT the same as engine tech, these use a cooler stat and a cat stat which flows much more volume than the stock brp stats. $225.00 plus tax

Hands down a benefit on a stock sled. Keeps it well below its 135 deg where it starts to lose hp and well below where the ecu starts to pull timing to keep it out of detonation. Helps keep the whole cooling system at a more consistent and cooler operating temp which means your engine runs more consistent. Once you achieve a consistent running engine then you can properly clutch and gear it. I believe its a must on stock sleds, more so on turbos and big bores as they build heat faster and more of it.
