Does any one here run Cudney clutching on their mountain machines? I have and 09 summit 154 track with 800r. I just bought a Cudney clutch and looking at the install sheet he recommends 17.1gr on the 800r mountain. I am just checking propers et up for the mountains not wanting to change on the hill to badly. Fairly new to this so any help is appreciated. Then a second question would be, what would you think to be the best weight at 1200 feet when I ride home on the Cudney clutch set up

all machines react differantly to weight. some will take 17 some will take 20 depending on cranking compression...clutch fitness...all sorts of variables. 17g is just a baseline to start at. if you are worried about it over reving in the mountains throw in 19 grams and then you will be over compensating (maybe) and can compensate with your clickers. same goes for down low.

Does the Cudney kit come with ramps? What primary spring?

No it doesnt come with ramps, it comes with primary spring, secondary spring, helix, adjustable pins and weights. I am supposed to have it here this week (Thurs) So I cant say but will post on here when I get it and see what color. I am not going to have much time to test and play here at 1200 feet, as the following weekend we are in Valemount. So most of my tuning gonna take place there. I am thinking of either putting in the recommended start weight and start at clicker 2 and see what we get, and just adjust clickers on day one, day two add or remove weight. I bought Cudney as I have heard good things, but have noticed not too many using in the mountains.

Sounds right we put 17g in our 08's. That said I am toying with slightly more. I put the little one and a medium in. Wondering about 2 mediums instead. The 17g made a difference but not rippin your arms off or anything. Still very pleased with Bill Cudney and his products though!!:d:beer:
